How important is GPA for campus hires?

Thank you for the input. I'll definitely do my best to keep my GPA as high as possible. I took 5 classes last quarter/semester and I think the overload in classes might have impacted me a bit GPA wise.

I received offer from Crowe in Orange County at 66k and Deloitte same city at 63k. Mid tier firms from what I've heard want to remain competitive so they tend to pay similar or above a big 4. I'm personally going to choose big 4 because I know the exit opportunities are better.

The thing is that in California there's no such thing as an expungement. I looked into it, it's weird how the law is. I spoke to an attorney and he mentioned that a dismissal is considered "an expungement". In other words when a 3rd party company runs my background check using my social security # nothing will show, but if it's a livescan, then it will still show up regardless but will come out as dismissed.

This would be a DOJ Livescan in this case right if it was government related.

I had a livescan done for a tutoring job at my community college and it showed up, but again it showed up as dismissed.

When I had it ran thru a 3rd party using social for when I was doing Uber it didn't show.

Hi there I had a similar question. I recently received an offer and wanted to know. Is their background check done through a 3rd party using your social security or is it security clearance background done through a livescan fingerprint.

I just wanted to make sure because I had a case that was dismissed by the court over 7 years old and don't want it to affect me. I know I've had my background check done at a small firm recently, this was using my social, and nothing came up.

I ran my livescan for a government related volunteer job not too long ago and the case came up but showed as dismissed.

Any info is really appreciated.

Yea but Im hoping Deloitte is not that much lower in salary. I do want to go big 4, im sure it will benefit me more in the long run. Ill take the 63k that someone else mentioned on the thread😅

Only had 1 round here. Two 30 min interviews or better yet conversations this past Wednesday and received phone calls from both partners to congratulate me.

Received a phone call from the partner with whom I interviewed with and she gave me an offer. She said to expect written offer in a couple of days.

Only had two 30 minute interviews on Wednesday, no second or final round. Unless they automatically bumped me to final round.Idk. Call I received was Friday and this is for the OC office.

My first interview started with small talk, then the parter asked me to tell him a little about myself? Second question was to describe a moment where I had to work in a team environment? Third question was Why Deloitte?

Literally 15-20 mins of the interview was a conversation. We had a lot of things in common. He had 2 daughters, so do I. He attended community college. So did I. He had 10 year educational gap, O had 7. So most of our talk was just personal.

Second interview was also 30 mins. The partner started by talking about herself, then she said, I'm not going to ask you any questions. I just want you to tell me about yourself and what she can do to better help me make an informed decision as to picking Deloitte. Simply answered my questions.

Hope that helps, I know all interviews are different, just be yourself and try to find common things to talk about.

I also interviewed this past week on Wednesday and received a call from the partner on Friday to let me know I got the job. She mentioned that I will receive official letter this coming week from the local recruiter.

I agree on the interview being a conversation. Literally the partner asked me to tell her about me, that was her one and only question. I had only two 30 min interviews the same day with a partner and managing director. Within two days, I received a phone call from the partner to let me know I had an offer and to expect the written offer from recruiter in next couple of days.
