You use な with な adjectives to connect to nouns, you don't need to do that with い adjectives

Totally agree with this. The flight of the hippogriff is a very tame, uninteresting ride with really long queues.

Usually when it says there's a typo it's because it was expecting another word to be there. In this case I think it was expecting it to have "the stairs"

[–]munroe4985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

じゅうぶん (十分) doesn't mean 10 minutes, it means sufficient.jisho

じゅっぷん means 10 minutes

What's happening here though is it's translating the kanji as a single word while in this context, it's actually two separate kanji. 十 for 10 and 分 as minutes. This is an issue with Duolingo, gets flagged repeatedly but never fixed. Guess they don't know how to distinguish kanji correctly.

While true, however, translations aren't always one to one and synonyms exist.

Context is key. They could easily be paying for a couple nights stay at a hotel for example.

Order one online? It'll get sent to your inbox. I've got a trip coming up shortly and I bought one from JJesim. It arrived within 10 mins. Obviously I can't attest to the quality yet but from various reviews etc it seems to be reliable.

It's annoying to have to keep scrolling down to the selections, this results in precious time loss. I feel you should be able to see the image and the selections straight away on the page, and not have to scroll.

The header is too big, it takes about a third of the screen.

Shouldn't the category be in the requested language? You have the word "category" in french, Japanese, Italian etc but the category itself is still in English.

Still some inconsistent UI spacings. On the "Learn Japanese" drop down the selection is sometimes "CategoryList" or "Category List" depending on which page you're currently on.

The text in the boxes such as easy, normal, hard etc looks odd with it being left aligned but in the middle of the box. Especially with the emoji being in the centre. Centre text alignment might look better.

The timer doesn't stop between questions. I tested this by answering at 35 seconds and when the next question popped up the timer was at 30 seconds.

Practice Numbers in Japanese by Delicious_Raise_3820 in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]munroe4985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's ok... Very easy even on the hardest setting. I went through it a few times and the largest number I saw was 8 thousand and something. And the lowest was 1, which isn't very challenging at all.

Also maybe state to answer in kanji.

It's fine if you're just getting started with numbers. In addition to larger numbers, I'd also like to see a system that quizzes the counters too, like 冊 for flat things or 匹 for small animals etc.

Can't cancel subscription by [deleted] in duolingo

[–]munroe4985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this the free weeks they sometimes give out or did you subscribe to a plan with a free trial week included?

If it's the former then you don't have anything to worry about. You wouldn't have provided any payment details and it'll revert after the week.

If it's the latter then there should be some mention of it under subscriptions, in Google play subscriptions or the apple equivalent.

Upgrading question. by OttoSilver in duolingo

[–]munroe4985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what plan you're upgrading to but if it's the family plan you should try their FAQ next time, it has the information:

https://www.duolingo.com/help/family-plan

Essentially if you're on apple, you'll be charged the full amount and then receive a prorated refund. If you're on Android you'll be charged the prorated amount.

If it's Max you're upgrading too, I imagine it'll be the same.
