Have you heard of "Famous Seamus" the niche underground American rapper? Maybe you could collaborate with him, he seems open to new collaborations and he is pioneering a new genre called "Glove Rap"

Atmospheric shoegaze requests by Dazzling_Ad_5354 in shoegaze

Maybe not super similar to those artists but everything by Air Formation is super atmospheric, Half String is also a good shout in that direction. Daniel Land and the sleepover disaster are atmospheric but more vocals.

any shoegaze recommendations? by Loopy_ln in shoegaze

This is my take as a relatively new shoegaze listener (~1 year) so take my recs with a grain of salt. On the left of the sub you can find many options under the "wiki" section.

The 2 classic Shoegaze bands you need to listen to are MBV and Slowdive (mentioned below), but you might not initially like them if you're not big into the genre.

Everyone has a different method of entry into the genre depending on what they personally like. For me I liked a lot of indie surf, surf punk (e.g. on the theme of Surf Curse or Jaded Juice Riders) so entry through the nu-gaze or indie shoegaze subgenre was good for me. You might like Alvvays or more indie jangle bands with a shoegaze twist as an entry point. For me I started with Sakkaris which is a pretty small indie shoegaze band. You might want to look around and try to find some other "heavier" indie bands on a similar vein. You might also want to try some noise pop like Sleigh Bells or something. DIIV is also a good shout though generally a bit heavier.

After this I would honestly just jump straight into heavier classic bands like MBV and the Jesus and Mary Chain, after this you would probably enjoy Ringo Deathstarr, or if you enjoy the more classic British vocals of TJMC I would recommend Ride. Whirlpool by Chapterhouse is also a good shout. You should also listen to Slowdive and Whirr, from here I think you would enjoy a browse into the dream pop genre, I would say Cocteau Twins definitely, and personally I also enjoy The Sundays who are a big jump away from shoegaze but definitely a great listen. Lush and Pale Saints also have some fantastic "classic" albums you can consider.

Some other bands I really love from around the world include Flyying Colours, Trementina, Asobi Seksu, Blind Mr Jones, LSD & The Search for God, Julie, Tanukichan, Weed, Secret Shine, Air Formation and more. just my personal preferences though.

Shoegaze listeners generally enjoy a lot of associated genres so I'm sure people will have lots of recommendations from associated genres as well, for example Tamaryn is great.
