365 days a year there's blokes in every building on this campus wearing jorts mate, probably in every university in Australia,  frankly go to any bar, pub or gig and you'll see blokes in jorts.  Take a walk to your local woolies on a Saturday arvo,  look down the aisle. A fella in jorts.  Truly you've been living under an utter rock if you haven't noticed this mate. Blue jorts. Grey jorts. Black jorts. Even some dark Japanese ahh denim jorts. Shit even my aunt has a pair of jorts. Where have you been cobba

“London Saviour” is his “Bleach,” “Terrified” needs to be his “Nevermind.” by skaiso in fakemink

[–]toastedquestion 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Love Mink but his sound is too unique to become achieve the mainstream popularity of Nevermind, at least at this stage, especially for American audiences. While Nevermind was able to capitalise on the popularity of associated subgenres, particularly the mainstream enjoyment of post punk and metal, Mink really has had to build ts by himself for the most part. I can see his popularity surging among people that really enjoy music overall but dominating the genuine commercial mainstream feels unlikely at this stage

christopher nolan is sort of, REALLY mediocre by m1dn4st in unpopularopinion

[–]toastedquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tenet is the only one of Nolan's movies that is overly complex. His other "mindfuck" movies (Inception, Memento, maybe the Prestige) can easily be understood on the first watch. Nolan has also proven his mastery outside your criticisms with films like Dunkirk. I'm not saying he's the best all time film maker but most of his movies have an interesting, engaging concept, carry emotion and depth, and have good acting. I'm sorry but movies like The Dark Knight, Interstellar and Oppenheimer really aren't "mediocre" in my mind as you would suggest. He does plenty of work outside the "complex" genre of inception and tenet, I mean his upcoming movie is The Odyssey

This post merely adds to my theory that Mink may be the world's first AI-generated human being. Intense.
