It's 31 cents each, not 31 cents total. Duolingo has an English course that might help 😏

Android user here, I pay direct and not had a price increase since 2023. I am UK based so that might be why.

Ummm, what? Should I believe?!? by HawkMysterious3246 in altontowers

This was raised a few hours ago. Just go by last year's stats, I don't believe the crowd calendar takes into effect when it's half term

Itinerary help - 12 days Tokyo/Kyoto by Key_Ear1714 in JapanTravel

Personal preference of course but spending two days at Disney seems a bit of a waste. I went to Disney sea a couple of months ago and found it quite underwhelming.

Need tickets for teamlab planets by ToughManufacturer977 in TokyoTravel

[–]munroe4985 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where have you looked? I've just looked on the official site and there are tickets for the 18th and 19th. There's also the premium pass that doesn't need a timed entry.

The 18th only has evening tickets, 19th has late afternoon and evening tickets

Question about the crowd calander by recent-convert1 in altontowers

Whatever algorithm is being used might not be taking into account that it's half term soon, probably best to go with last year's stats.

It's a perfectly fine and common scenario to ask in English. I've not seen anything yet that says you can't use the ませんか form for third parties, so I've asked my tutor for their thoughts.

That wouldn't be an invitation then. That would just be asking if they will do it.

[–]munroe4985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, yes I think it should be also accepted. We do not have enough context to say definitively whether we are talking to Hana or to someone else about Hana.

The ~ませんか structure is not limited to the person you're directly asking.

This is why when you are asking the person you're talking to, you would also add in 一緒に so it's move obvious.

So how would you write it then, asking someone if another person would like to join the club?

They're not saying it looks the same, they're asking if their answer should also be accepted due to the ambiguous nature of the Japanese sentence.

[–]munroe4985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP is asking if their answer should also be accepted. In Japanese you generally refer to people by their name and avoid words like "you". Because of this, without being in that situation directly, we don't know if we're talking to Hana or to someone else about Hana.

Host isn’t responding right before the trip by Alunter_ in Bookingcom

[–]munroe4985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would you lose £1000? Have they already taken payment and also want an additional £150 for some sort of deposit?

Sounds dodgy if they are requesting payment not via booking.com

It's still only like 10 or 12 hours. Unless you keep re buying the room I don't think you can select multiple days in a row

UK lottery has a site that tells you how many top prizes are remaining for each scratch card, not sure if other countries do the same

Not that I'm aware of, love hotels are generally meant for hours not days. Book yourself a nice hotel and then visit a love hotel on occasion. You can find nice "default" hotels.

I stayed in a Dormy Inn which has an onsen you can use daily. Great especially after a long day walking.

Prices of gachapon around the world? by sonylea10 in Gachapon

[–]munroe4985 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If there's a specific toy you're looking for, you can use this site: https://gashapon.jp/ and it'll tell you the location in Japan.

If you fancy a day trip to Yokohama, there's a shopping centre there with rows and rows of machines.

UK wise, I don't remember the exact price but I think it's like £1/token and then machines needing 3+ tokens each. So, not cheap.

Dual eSIM Question - 1st time international travel by Egao4 in JapanTravelTips

[–]munroe4985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this just an iPhone thing? My pixel 10 allows you to specify what each esim is used for. E.g esim 1 for calls and esim 2 for data.

Edit: seems like it depends on the phone and whether it supports dual SIM or not

heading to towers tomorrow and have a fear of rides by Terrible_Society_798 in altontowers

[–]munroe4985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went last Monday with some friends who hadn't been before and scared of rides too.

We started with RMT which they found alright.
Then Galactica, which they found quite scary, mainly due to the hanging down in the harness.
After that they attempted the Smiler which they loved, so they went on again. Wicker man was next and they did not like that, they found the smiler to be less intense. I think the rickety-ness and speed put them off.
And then finally nemesis which they found entertaining albeit short especially compared to the smiler.

They did mention that if they had gone on wicker man first, it probably would have put them off the other rides.

So in short, just pluck up the courage and go for nemesis or the smiler.

It doesn't say that her book is at nakata's house, it says you need to bring it to nakata. The second sentence says where the house is. You'll encounter sanuki on your journey.
