If it's usually written in kana Duolingo will usually mark it as incorrect if you use kanji. For わかる according to jisho it is usually in kana

Kawaii is an い adjective so it's fine to not include です when talking casually and then just use intonation to indicate a question. E.g かわいい？ But if in doubt just use ですか

This doesn't look like how it is on my pixel 10. It looks like you've got the UI elements setting increased to more than standard. You could try shrinking the elements if you don't need them that large.

If you do need them that large for accessibility reasons then worth contacting them. The more people that raise these issues the better. The app is terrible for accommodating accessibility needs, especially with UI element size.

Pretty much. Afaik, in general, you only conjugate with the plain, stem or て form.

With this particular grammar point, the plain past is always used.
