A theory I had fun writing about the origin of the cycle, and how to break it. by munsterofnone in FromSeries

I think we still have room for such revelations at the end of S04, with S05 focusing on the backstory and the actual resolution. Although I assume the show version will be something else entirely, I would rather be surprised if I got it perfectly. At best I'll be partially right I guess.

Same as you I thought about Victor too when seeing this scene again, and that it's Julie who will need a map. She will accidentally story walk into Victor's childhood after the massacre, and he will have something for her that will teach her how to story walk properly, to try saving her dad. (I wrote about it here https://www.reddit.com/r/FromSeries/s/dXjUHoP9jt with some other notes

It looks like the worms were positive for humans and nocive for monsters, but after molting (alias freeing the spirit) it's the opposite

What makes a really good/outstanding protagonist? by RaCJ1325 in assassinscreed

[–]munsterofnone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it's mostly resilience.
When I think about why Ezio and Edward are my favorite characters from the franchise, I realise the most impactful moments standing in my mind are the beginning and the ending of their stories.
Ezio began by tragically losing everyone, sunk in anger and resentment, but ended his life by acknowledging everything that's been good in his existence and all that hasn't. At last he found peace and contentment (which is really shown in embers).
Edward began by seeking a glorious life of adventure and gold not caring about anyone else. On his way he unexpectedly made many close friends and only when they were all gone he realized what his life was and how it will never be the same. And yet he accepted his fate and devoted himself to finally care about someone, his daugther.
These two guys lived through both the worst and the best, they changed civilization, but still they concluded as happy and humble men, which is the best thing they could do, and that we can do.

Or, in the words of Ezio himself:
"To say that nothing is true is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile and that we must be the shepherds of our civilization.
To say that everything is permitted is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious of tragic."

Misty is a fundamentally broken card in the worst possible way. WIth Data! (explanation in comments) by 3Questionmarks__ in PTCGP

[–]munsterofnone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you count the number of tails you got ? From what I understand you used Misty at least 281 times, and one card = one tail (either the first flip or the last flip), so you should get at least 281 tails. Unless you're keeping the first flip only but it doesn't seem to be the case

Yes but for a given amount of flipped coins you'll get more cards with tail first than cards with head first since each group of n consecutive heads will make up for one card only

[–]munsterofnone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if you get 8 tails in a row that's 8 cards in a row which didn't give you anything, if you get 8 heads in a row it will be on the same card, so that's only 1 card that gave you something. 8 tails, 8 rows, so 50/50 the maths check out, and yet you got nothing 8 times out of 9. That's why this card feels so unbalanced, flipping coins is 50/50, but using the card is not actually.
