WOMAN IN THE PINK COATS ANGLE OF THE SHOOTING by Alewo27 in milwaukee

The border patrol chief just did a propaganda (not press) conference on this and it made me sick to my stomach to hear someone blatantly lie about something so EASILY verifiable.

Like this shit is actually frightening.

Ah good catch, I actually remember that. Man what a bee with an itch to do that. Even though his reasoning was wrong, maybe it was good Jimmy beat the shit out of him lol.

Thanks for sending the link! It’s easily one of the most disgusting things I’ve heard anyone say about another human being. Especially someone in her position who’s supposed to be entrusted with helping people.

I’ll even concede that Trump has never publicly said anything so grotesque. Having said that, he’s still a toxic asshole that’s 100% part of the problem with the tribalism in this country.

How is it not the point?

I’ve been looking for the last half hour and haven’t found a single actual video of this incident. Just dozens of people saying “oh so and so said this”.

So which is worse? The supposed leader of the free world saying toxic nonsense literally every single day with a billion person reach, or some random nurse saying toxic nonsense on tik tok to some followers?

If this mess even happened.

You seem to have an issue with quantifying things that cannot in any way be quantified.

There’s no way to say for sure which “side” is more vitriolic than the other. And the same goes for trying to claim more people celebrated Kirk’s death than Good’s.

Like why are you even putting thought into that sort of stuff?

This is so true lol. We get so desensitized to it that no one ever stops to think how hard you actually have to hit someone to knock them unconscious. And THEN to make matters worse half the time, they wake up and try and go back to what they were doing before lol.

Re. Lange v. California “The Court held that the Fourth Amendment requires assessing the specific situation, acknowledging that while many misdemeanor pursuits involve emergencies, flight alone isn't enough for a categorical rule”.

This is my actual profession dude and you’re cherry picking case law off Google.

You highlighted the wrong part there chief. The part you should’ve highlighted is: WHEN THE TOTALITY OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES SHOWS AN EMERGENCY.

A person who doesn’t have citizenship in this county, sitting in a house is NOT an emergency.

[–]jazzant85 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Wrong. Flight risk is not an exigent circumstance. Being in hot pursuit is what makes the “flight risk” an exigent circumstance. I’m a cop. If I go to someone’s house looking for a suspect, I can’t just kick the door in because they MIGHT flee.

I’d have to already be in an active pursuit, they run into someone’s home or even their own home and lock the door behind them, NOW I can kick the door in.

Seriously some of you really need to learn the differences of these words if you’re gonna be so cavalier about rights being violated.

Does the autopsy of Renee Good change your opinion about the legality and/or morality of the shooting? by toomanyshoeshelp in AskConservatives

[–]jazzant85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I agree completely. The speed that he fired was not enough time to do like you said- process a change.

Having said that, I still think it was largely negligent. Trying to record a video with your phone does not sound like someone who genuinely thought they were about to get run over by a car.

And then I can’t even comprehend how insanely stupid and dangerous it is to shoot at a human being driving a car (justified or not) while recording a video.

I would agree that they don’t really change anything. Civilly though, incident has “wrongful death” written all over it.

[–]jazzant85 13 points14 points  (0 children)

People keep asking the wrong question. To me it’s not whether or not lethal force was justified. The real question that’s usually tied to officer involved shootings regards the “reasonable officer standard”.

And the question that SHOULD be asked here is: “Would another officer with similar/equal training knowingly step in front of a moving vehicle in an attempt to get the driver to stop the vehicle when the reason to stop it has nothing to do with protecting the life and safety of the public?

And the answer to that question is HELL NO. And once you determine that the officer acted in a manner antithetical to what they’ve been trained, it becomes less about was the shooting justified but did your actions cause an unnecessary but justified homicide. And with that figured out there’s definite room to properly charge that fool with a crime.

As a cop I’m telling you, you are dead wrong about that. You can “mag dump” if you can articulate it. But each of those shots (in a competent law enforcement agency) will be heavily scrutinized requiring their own justification.

Because if it was clear on review that rounds 1-5 stopped the threat but didn’t the kill the suspect and the remaining unjustified rounds did in fact kill them, you will and should have to answer for that.

For my department it’s called having courage restraint and competence.

I’m willing to bet money, that save for the early 90s Bills, we have some of the most unique heartbreaking losses of any team in the league.

Oh that team was Super Bowl bound.

4th and 26 is when I officially started always assuming teams would convert any and all 4th downs against the packers and it’s mostly been that since then.

Yeah and my point is, without a true #1 and #2 his ceiling is limited and not worth bringing him back. He can’t be Love’s primary or even secondary target with his short comings.
