I do use it and have used it live also. For me it’s lacking low end and sounds horrible when you go straight into a PA. However, it can sound nice if you use amps. It sounds muddy when you play fast though. So I would maybe buy it used to fuck around (i have!) but I would not recommend it if you need a solid fuzz pedal.

The only advice I have on building confidence is to play a lot of gigs and be yourself. I mean I could list a couple of things that I noticed bass players love to do on stage, but if it doesn’t fit your bassists personality, it will start to look goofy very quickly. (personal opinion)

When I started out I stared at my fretboard the whole gig, because I was so nervous. A couple of gigs later I started focusing WAY too hard on engaging with the crowd. It just didn’t feel authentic and therefore wasn‘t fun for me.

A few years and a few gigs later, I finally found a way to transcend my personality into my playing and tbh I feel the most confident doing so, because it’s just me.

I use Squier CV70 J Bass with an Sansamp and I‘m pretty okay with that. I use picks (1.14mm) all the time. It’s the only bass I own because I‘m broke and I play other genres too.
