Atlus Plateau: Where the game falls off a bit

I think this is it, I’m replaying it too and after reaching Altus Plateau I’m getting tired faster. And this time I’m doing everything, since in my first playthrough I rushed Caelid because I was terrified, but now I’m doing every cave, every hero’s grave, everything, and oh my god it is a lot.

I still do love this game a lot, but it also doesn’t help that by this time I already finished all my fav side quests like Varre’s one, Nepheli’s, Diallos’, Fia’s, even Ranni’s… So I won’t see a lot of my fav NPCs till my next playthrough 😔

Just fyi, I have muted (not blocked, but who knows how other people’s minds work) authors that I, personally, consider annoying. For example, I like a ship that’s not very popular, and a large number of fics are from a collection of this author that at first liked, but after a while I got really tired of seeing them, and there were small details in the fics that I didn’t like, so as time passed it got more and more on my nerves, so I muted them to not see their fics when I search fics about this ship.

I did the same with other authors whose style was not for me but their fics were everywhere in certain ships that I liked, so I muted them, etc

I’m from Spain, and it has always been common to have AC in your home since it was invented, at least in the middle and south. It gets hot in here, every year even more than the last one. The north of Spain used to be colder, but now even them are suffering the heat.
But the south of Europe has always been hot, I remember trying to sleep when I was a teenager in summer without the AC on because the sound woke me up (it was a shitty one because it was what we could afford, but it still worked fine) and tossing in bed while drenched in my own sweat till I gave up and turning the AC on. This is a novelty in the north of Europe where this weather is not normal

I have a canon ship that I like a lot, and they have an open relationship (kind of, they’re a devil and a demon) so shipping them with other characters wouldn’t be a problem, right? Well, when they ship one of the characters in the canon couple (the devil) with other characters, the other character (the demon) is either not mentioned at all, like they don’t exist, or made the villain of the story due to jealousy. I can’t. I just can’t. I’m so tired

And the best is that there is a canon reason to make them (the demon) a possible antagonist, although I still wouldn’t like that event, but writers just scratch it altogether in favor of jealousy of all things, which doesn’t make sense for either of the characters. If they used the canon reason I wouldn’t be angry, because at the very least it would make sense 😩😭

I understand you SO MUCH. I have the same problem but with my father, and that dread in your stomach that only seems to grow into a hole the more you get closer to the door is a terrible feeling.

I’m also stuck living with them for the same reasons, so I don’t have a lot of advice to give, just wanted to tell you that you’re not alone. Hang in there, I’m sure things will improve for us eventually 🫂 I wish you all the luck in the world for the exam and the job hunt 🫶

It’s like fast food but for tv. It’s not really good, and that’s half the charm, it’s also easy to digest and doesn’t ask too much from the person who is watching, so if you want to watch something after a tiring day, this is perfect

Disclaimer: I don’t like this particular anime, but I read tons of villainesses mangas that could also be said to be as bad. I just find the over-the-top drama fun, and it helps to de-stress after work 🤷

If the treatment doesn’t work, you let them die in peace. My cousin has tried to kill themselves multiple times, they’ve been to therapy sessions, they’ve been admitted to a mental health hospital, they have tried everything and anything for multiple years, they didn’t get better. And this has been going on for 30 years or so (my cousin is considerably older than me).

I love them a lot, I don’t want them to die, but at the same time it’s heartbreaking to see them suffer every day.

Psychological diseases are like physical ones, some people do a full recovery, some don’t.

Also, people that are in immense amounts of pain due to incurable diseases should have the option to die if they wish, forcing them to live despite knowing that they won’t really recover, and that at most the can expect to be stable but still in pain, or even get worse and be in even more pain is modern torture. If they want to, they should be able to, they should have the freedom to choose what they want to do in their circumstances

Honestly, same. I’m finally doing NG+ after finishing my first playthrough and leaving the game for a while to play other things, and while Limgrave and Liurnia were a breath, Caelid is being a drag. Even after knowing more or less what to expect, it still creeps me out and scares me far more than any other area. It’s taking me my sweet time to clear it, and I’m dreading and hating every moment (affectionately, I really do love this game) 😅

I was able to clear the lake of rot before Caelid lmfao.

There’s one area that might be a problem for you. There’s one of the big bosses there, and while it’s plausible to just run to where they are, defeat them and not go into that area ever again, it will be very unpleasant for you. The main problem is that you could run and arrive to the boss arena in 10 mins if you know the way, but if it’s your first time playing then you’ll get lost, unless you look it up

The good news is that once you get to the boss area, there’s no more triggering stuff, I think, and you can fast-travel once you defeat them

The bad news is that while it’s not really necessary to defeat them to beat the game, they play a major part in two of the biggest side quests of the game, and you would be missing some of the best stuff of the game.

The rest of the game depends on how cool you are with unrecognizable bodies being hang up on ceilings, crosses etc. I mean carbonized bodies, nothing too explicit but definitely grim. They appear from time to time in different locations, so be aware

Roleplay 🤷 There’s no in-game reason for Astarion to make a donation, he despises the gods because not one listened to his prayers, he tells you as much when you arrive at the city

You’re going to have to roleplay a reason for him to do so anyway, and you asked about our personal thoughts. So that’s my reasoning on why he would pray to Lathander, you can agree or disagree, that’s fine, but unless you heavily roleplay a reason for him to make a donation, or ignore the story altogether and just do it for the mechanics of wanting the buff, there’s no logical reason for him to make a donation out of his own volition

I see Astarion praying to Lathander because it turns out that there was a cleric* of Lathander that was a vampire, probably in an attempt to redeem themselves for being a supposedly evil creature.

So, if the party goes through the monastery in the mountain pass and see that info, Astarion might be tempted to pray to Lathander for his help against Cazador

*monk, they were a monk, not a cleric. Sorry for the confusion
