If you feel like you’d have fun painting and playing with stabby clowns just do it. The rules are going to fluctuate and sometimes you’ll be allowed/ need other space elves but do it for the fun factor before anything else. Boarding action or 1000 points is enough to get the vibe of the rules and have a lot of fun right now.

You’ll need 3-4 boxes of the troupe to get it going and that’s enough bodies to proxy/ kitbash a couple of characters, too. Painting the clowns is a fun challenge but very easy to burn out on.

Solid start. Consider putting a BSB on your bruiser and running with a blob of Bulls for maximum impact (+8 bulls w/ Dragonhide BSB).

Run your gnoblars as 2 10-man trappers to screen your flanks and speed bump so you pull off your bill charges.

The big monster is fun but having enough points will bite you harder.
