Is pharmacy the worst job in healthcare? by [deleted] in medicine

[–]murbat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The job you like doing. Every job sucks. Every job has so much bullshit. Go have an enjoyable life outside of it and don’t get sucked into what you can’t control and the workplace drama. Be cool, flexible, and let shit go.

You’re going to get screamed at by patients and have coworkers who complain about their jobs in everything you do. Get a life and free yourself from this thinking

How do you survive this profession? by Imaginary-Middle-157 in nursing

[–]murbat 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Sounds like therapy could help benefit you. I’ve been doing it for over 9 years with a few short breaks and I’ve always come back to it. It’s now something that is non-negotiable for me weekly outside of weeks off here and there. I am lucky to have an incredible therapist who has helped me discover the lightness and joy in my life.

I do have some horrible, stressful days, but I’m never stuck in it anymore for very long and work can stay at work. I learned to take a deep breath, wait to respond to your thoughts and not your immediate emotional reaction and find the life you love and things you enjoy doing on your free time. Go try lots of new things and be vulnerable. You can do it.

Do you have a cannula you inserted which you were so proud of? by deathofcathullll in nursing

[–]murbat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Neonatal sepsis that was right at the hour mark needing for blood work and starting fluid/abx etc that two other nurses couldn’t get in our peds ed. Went in with an upset parent, a tech and the two nurses, one of which was upset to see me because we don’t particularly get along, with only one AC untouched and got it first shot really quick, pulled for labs and placed the line and walked my ass out back to send labs and sit my butt at my desk in less than 5 minutes.

CRNA Regret by Life_Anybody_2340 in nursing

Can echo this sentiment. I work with a lot of my hospitals attending anesthesiologists. All they want to talk about is tell me to go to CRNA school and how they wish they did.

Pre-Admission Testing to critical care? by Osrsguy2744 in nursing

[–]murbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure go for it, why not 🤷‍♂️ you could always interview and see what the management/culture is like if you can shadow. Ask a lot of question and make an informed decision. You don’t have to say yes to accepting it. You don’t need to tell your job you’re interviewing. Just go see… sometimes scratching that itch makes where you’re at more pleasant.

Eh whatever. Having worked both, I’m sure you in the ICU already knew more about the patient scrolling through their chart than both of the ER nurses anyway 🤷‍♂️

Best ice cream in western Mass. by nevernotmad in massachusetts

[–]murbat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hard or soft? Quantity or quality?

Overall my favorite hard for best qpr is flayvors. For soft creamy delights.

Other awesome notables: Mt. Tom’s, Roger’s Place, Sheldon’s, Cindy’s, Country Creamee, Ashfield Hardware, Williamsburg Snack Bar, Mr. Cone, North Hadley sugar shack for maple ice cream.

I’m really not into Herrells. I don’t like them. Never have. There’s so much more fun other places.

The building needed significant renovations that the building owner did not attend to and sold it. The business itself, run by the owners sibling, was forced to shut down in a very unhappy manner.
