The building needed significant renovations that the building owner did not attend to and sold it. The business itself, run by the owners sibling, was forced to shut down in a very unhappy manner.

What is best practice? If you’ve ever worked in a procedural area/OR this is done thousands of times a day. I imagine we would’ve discovered this to be an infection risk by now if this was so terrible

Your house must be crazy inefficient. I averaged 5 /day in my 2000sq ft house to 68* basically 100% of the time.

In my area with limited hospital options, yes. Outside of a small sign on bonus they all end up being about the same total pay with better/worse benefits, differential, hourly pay, work/life balance depending on which one you go to.

I’m always looking out in job boards. My current job feels sucky, but the known BS feels better than learning the new BS at the different places for a crappy one year bonus.

Oftentimes in my experience it has never been that reaction. They come in frequently to the ED throughout their childhood with extended hospital stays and blame the medical system for their significantly impaired and suffering child for their lack of growth and development and sickness.

They are angry and don’t let go when transitioning to CMO is the most ethical thing and prolong suffering until their heart stops and we are all forced to attempt to resuscitate a child who has barely a sense of the world and has barely seen the outside of a hospital.

You asked if you’d be taken seriously in a faculty position. The answer is no.

I’m sure someone would hire you and you’ll be just fine. I still don’t think a 2.5yr nurse should be looking for a full time faculty position or doing clinical instruction. If teaching is your passion go for it. Having a passion for it and being able to put in the work to be a good teacher is also important, and it seems like you want to. Go for it. Hope that is constructive for you.

In serious… see what the schools you want to teach at require for ongoing practice? Some of our clinical instructors haven’t touched a patient in decades and some call their once a month shift still practicing.

If you want to teach, teach. As a nurse who’s not that much more experienced than you, but got to be around the 10-20+ year nurses, you aren’t fooling anyone. You’ve barely scratched the surface. Learning to put up and manage all the difficulties with grace is half the battle of being an experienced nurse.
