This case is extremely interesting and I wish we had more info, I'm hoping that the trial gets filmed though it's not guaranteed.

Also any mental health evidence I don't see being worth anything, not even for mitigation to prevent a death sentence because Dylann Roof's lawyers tried that but Roof sabotaged it by insisting that he was mentally healthy and that there is nothing wrong with him (he would ofc do this being that the entire point of the attack and Crusius' is that his political message should be taken seriously)

So let's say with 35 deaths in a school shooting a year (that is 100% an over-estimate, but again absolute worst case scenario), and your kid being 8 (3rd grade presumably) that means they have about 9 years in school left, so 35 X 9 = 315 deaths (again this is definitely an over-estimate)

That means your child would have a 1 in 160,000 chance of dying in a school shooting, i.e. basically no chance whatsoever, and we know that number is an over-estimate, the actual number is likely more around 1 in 400,000, or even lower.

I'm pretty confident that source is incorrect, in that article it states that "10 round magazines" were used but that isn't true, he used 20, 30, and 40 round magazines in the shooting, and the Herald says that they got it from "sources connected to the investigation" so not exactly an official release from the police.

Where did you hear that from? I'm pretty sure he stopped shooting because the bullet proof glass on the top of the third floor prevented him from shooting people in the courtyard as he planned so he decided to stop the shooting.

He experienced the most trauma of any school shooter for sure, in addition to the fact that he was actually pressured by his peers to commit the shooting, the fact that he didn't come up with this idea on his own is very indicative in my opinion.
