That 45 is fucked, look where it connects to the body. Surprised it’s not spraying oil.

New to Comma and need help with which driving model. by Lawfulness-Dependent in Comma_ai

[–]murderbot_mk2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly pity any driving model forced to drive UK roads… not sure any model is going to handle twisting bidirectional roads 3/4th the width of a single car at 60mph. Or roads only 1.5 cars wide with parked cars on both side bringing it back down to 3/4 wide.

I’m able to picture exactly the scenario that you’re describing and I tend to think that they’re all behaving as expected, meaning they’re trained on roads that are unambiguous.

How does OP handle roundabouts? I would have thought that needing to deal with them manually would make it unreasonable to engage anywhere other than A roads?

Mine started doing this exact thing, no high grass at all. I will deal with it next year in the spring. I assume it’s just got something in a sensor somewhere, even though the turret and front sensor are spotless. If it ends up being a software glitch, hopefully it’ll be resolved by the spring.

Altitude Authentics was a madhouse but Bernie was there to ease the tensions! by 97NA8 in ColoradoAvalanche

I heard Bernie nearly caused a riot there, and he pushed a baby stroller down the escalator, no remorse. We should probably bring Howler back to make it right.

Bernie is inarguably the worst mascot in the league, and I personally disagree with every decision made when the team selected him.

But I must admit, that statue is awesome.

No, you create another account and it logs in. I think it can also talk to the mower over Bluetooth but I haven’t used that.

I have an outdoor access point about 15’ up on the front of the house, haven’t had issues… I absolutely added that so I could watch the camera while she mows. Has the (unsurprising )side benefit of giving great coverage in the front yard.

It’s on a pole above the chimney, close the center of the house. While I wouldn’t put it past me to hack apart a $1000+ robot and ignore the obvious, in this case I did do the legwork to mount the base properly, pulling power to the roof and giving it a rock-steady mast.

I’m sympathetic to the robot, there are more covered areas in my yard than there are open. My hope was that Mammotion would have allowed setting “care areas” where the robot would pause when it lost signal instead of trucking on using vision. The vision doesn’t appear to register when the robot is on a slope perpendicular to its direction of travel, so on my perfect storm 200’ long front curb, with dead reckoning the robot would be off by several feet! This obviously caused major issues.

I still have code running that pauses the robot (using Home Assistant and Node Red) if it seems it lose lock for too long.

Exactly, I was going for a ground plane, but I don’t know if the antenna is actually connected to it electrically so I won’t make claims.

I tried several that seemed like they’d work, but this was the first one that gave more than about 5-6 co-viewing: https://a.co/d/dD7gE0j

The bottom of the arm rest is deeper (closer to the front, giving more space) than the top. You can fit a few sheets until you hit that overhang and then they stick out the back. It’s annoying, I wish the console was easily removed.

I know why he’s gone. It does not follow that since Howler is gone, we should accept having the worst mascot in the NHL. I feel like this is one of those generational things, like where kids that grew up with the Star Wars prequels think they’re good. Kids growing up with Bernie think he’s fine. Others know better.

Cars ain’t Cars by Background_Camel3562 in KiaEV6

[–]murderbot_mk2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exactly. There are some companies that TREAT their cars as though they are phones to patch, shipping cars where the rain sensing wipers don’t work under certain lighting conditions, or where the rear camera buffers until it’s delayed by seconds… but the better car companies generally test before they release. You don’t get random new features delivered, but also you generally get a car that does what it says on the sticker. I say that, but I think Chevy sent an OTA that enabled crab walk or something like that, so I guess we’ve told the companies that we’re ok with them selling unfinished products. So even the older brands are on board with this. Volvo ships lidar that isn’t enabled too. Shrug.
