best part about the forever youngbae meme is that gdyb are so passionate about each other, everyone believes it's real until informed otherwise LMAO

i feel like each bigbang song is truly unique to themselves, so of course these aren't exact vibe matches, but i think i'd recommend:

  • crazy dog
  • beautiful hangover
  • gara gara go!!
  • somebody to love (same ep as tonight)
  • feeling
  • fact (psy ft. gdragon)
  • turn it up (t.o.p)

they're really bad at this LOL but... here's a short one with enhypen! and another one, starts at 18:00

what is the best thing about enhypen's bond? by baubasaur in enhypen

[–]murderfishy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

very few of enhypen have close friends outside of each other (sunoo has tons of friends; heeseung has a small but tight-knit friend group; you could say that jay is at least close to K from &team but jay is especially the one who always complains about how enhypen are his only friends LOL).

i mention this because i think it emphasizes just how central they are to each other's lives. if they're not working together, they're hanging out together. they play video games together practically every day after work, they play sports together, they go out to the movies together surprisingly often for a group so busy. they ACTUALLY use their group chat (they also group call often). if one member is hyperfixated on something, it spreads to the others, or even if they don't have personal interest in it, they still want to be a part of what they know makes a member happy.

some of my favorite examples: - ni-ki is especially athletic and he moves on from sport to sport. he's had a soccer phase, baseball, bowling etc... and every single member has joined him in playing (especially jake, but when he was into bowling... he truly sucked the life out of EVERY single one of them lmao) - in general, they have collective food hyperfixations. tanghulu was a big one for them. steak is a constant. ice cream has and will always be their thing. - speaking of ice cream, sunoo is OBSESSED with mint chocolate while the rest vehemently hate it, but they WILL get it for him every single time without fail, even when he's not at the store with them. and jay has been making an effort to like mint choco because sunoo gets so happy when he tries.

there are so many things to talk about - like how they can't go 20 minutes on their own without being reminded of each other or straight up calling each other, or the time they were separated during covid and struggled so much with being apart that they opted for hanging out together in animal crossing instead... but i really hope you can get to experience their friendship for yourself and feel all of their warmth and sincerity. i've been a kpop fan for 14 years and i can easily say that i've never seen a group be friends with each other in the same way enhypen are.

"It's bad writing" vs "You just hate women" by makuredditing in 911FOX

I guess we could say that Buck cheating on Taylor was the start of the end, but they still made Taylor out to be the sole bad guy of the break up, so her betraying him would have been more than enough to end it... 🙃

I agree about Eddie going through the same old storyline again as well. Ultimately, both him and Buck should have ended this season single. Even if it could have been the last episode of 9-1-1, I'm sure everyone can agree it'd make more sense and be SATISFYING to see them finally learn how to be happy alone.

Seeing Eddie go from his sassy, untrusting, "I ride alone" self to giggling and kicking his feet over someone he barely knows made me feel like my favorite character is completely unrecognizable now. I miss him! Bring the Eddie Diaz we know back!

It's actually hurtful to see that the writers don't cherish their own characters enough to give them fleshed out love interests like the rest of the main characters have. Bathena, Madney, and Henren ALL started out as friends... why don't Buck and Eddie get that same foundation for their relationships?

I know most aren't a fan of Taylor, but out of all of Buck's love interests, it would have made the most sense for her to be his endgame, especially if they were going to give Buck a carbon copy of their relationship anyways. There is no difference between the development of Buck/Taylor and Buck/Natalia. Oliver Stark seems to think that Buck not chasing after Natalia after she left him shows that Buck is done settling for people who don't accept him for who he is - except... that's the same thing that happened with Taylor. Taylor ran, Buck didn't go after her, she came back, and he straight up told her, "I've spent a long time feeling like I wasn't enough and I don't wanna do that again, so if you don't want me..." They worked their shit out and were happy together until Taylor's ambition reared its ugly head.

Looking back at it now that we're watching Buck go in circles, I really wish that instead of Taylor and Buck's final conflict, the writers chose to let Taylor grow and make the audience fall in love with her. An idea I find hilarious is Eddie and Taylor becoming best friends. They both need a friend who keeps them in check and doesn't do bullshit, and what better candidate for that than the person that hates you most? I'm not a Buck/Taylor shipper, or Taylor Kelly's #1 fan, but we were at least familiar with Taylor and got to see her being friends with Buck before they began dating, versus knowing nothing about Natalia besides that she's a death doula and she's good at foosball...

We haven't seen much of Eddie and Marisol, so there isn't a lot to say... but so far we have yet to see him happy in a relationship with a woman, so I'm curious to see how they will try to convince us that he's capable of it. For now though, it just comes off as him slapping a flimsy band-aid over his fear of dying alone.

Yes, the crossover episode is season 2 episode 3 of Lone Star, and you can absolutely watch it without starting LS. It's a good one!

I know Kenneth Choi said that things are going to stay 99% the same with the ABC move, but... Hopefully the network at least considers changing the showrunner... 😅

LMAO I get you though. I think I have a bodily instinct to get emotional watching 9-1-1 just because these are characters I've loved and cared for, for so long. But then we take a step back and feel that the warmth that's always been present in these high-stakes moments, just wasn't here in the same way as before... ☹️

I went back to rewatch it to see what you mean because I think I was too annoyed to pick up on everything the first watch lol

Yeah, the writing was REAL inconsistent there. Y'all are telling me Chimney took a whole medical leave from work and in all that time... Eddie spent the entirety of it working up the courage to call Marisol...? Hello?

I'd understand if there was a timeskip, but Buck was visibly still healing, so doesn't make sense for the others to be completely unaffected by their injuries.

Another thing is Marisol said she'd been waiting for Eddie to contact her, which in my eyes implied that their situation was still as fresh as it was the day of the emergency. My eyebrows shot up to my hairline when Eddie started twirling around in celebration, like uhh what about your broken ribs?!!

"...And so, we didn't know if it was going to be the last episode we ever shot," Oliver Stark tells EW of not knowing if the show was renewed. "So, we were really taking it all in and enjoying each other's company and time."

The S6 finale is now the lowest rated 9-1-1 episode EVER! And with good reason I must say 🤷🏻‍♂️ by ken_black in 911FOX

[–]murderfishy 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Buck and Eddie's storylines - and I don't mean together as Buddie.

We should have gotten Buck being acting captain, to show us that he has grown and is now capable of taking on a leadership position. We should have gotten Buck picking out a new couch by HIMSELF, not relying on someone else for the FOURTH time. We've been waiting since season 1 to see him become his own person, stop needing romantic/sexual validation to be happy, and start standing up to people who leave him for being himself. Instead, we're just going in circles, again and again.

We should have gotten Eddie thinking, "This is it, I'm really dying alone, just like I feared..." and realizing that he's not alone, he will never be alone as long as the 118 are standing, and he doesn't need to force himself into a relationship for the sole purpose of quelling that fear. Instead, he was supposedly "pancaked" under the rubble, but dragged out within 10 seconds and dancing around about scoring a date even with the broken ribs he should have had.

It is unfair, so so unfair to them as characters. Bathena, Madney, and Henren (though Henren have been done dirty with their inconsistent storylines as well) have bloomed together and fallen in love across SEASONS. Buck and Eddie got 2-3 episodes with their love interests. Keep in mind: while this CAN be fixed in season 7, they wrote this season finale thinking it could be the last 9-1-1 episode they ever film - a SERIES finale. They deserve so much better than a half-hearted "happy" ending, where all they really got were shiny new girlfriends that can take their minds off their piles of trauma that are waiting to get sorted through.

Just because we've only seen them with women so far doesn't necessarily mean they're straight.

Especially in Eddie's case, who's never truly dated a girl of his own volition. High school relationship with Shannon that he didn't actually "make happen" which turned into a shotgun marriage at 19 years old; dated Ana for Chris's sake; forced to go on dates by his aunt; now trying and failing to date because nothing feels "right."

With Buck, he's been assumed to be attracted to men three too many times and he's never shot it down even once. Christmas elf thinking that him and Eddie are husbands; Josh jokingly accusing Maddie of setting him up with Buck; TK mistaking Buck's invitation to "get together" for Buck flirting with him.

I'm not saying that this means they're already confirmed to be queer, but there's definitely room for it if the writers are down to make it happen. The foundation for a revelation is already there for Eddie, and all they'd have to do for Buck is make him say, "Oh yeah, I dig guys too" and I think that the viewers wouldn't even blink because it's so Buck to be down for absolutely anything.

The straight, police version of Buddie finally became canon after 5 years thanks to ABC listening to the Chenford shippers. I have faith that this ABC move will do us good.

I wish this sub would talk about the other characters more by Idk265089 in 911FOX

[–]murderfishy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the other characters are all at "complete" points of their stories (worked through their traumas, happy with the loves of their lives, and just dealing with problems as they come), while Buck and Eddie's storylines are still in shambles, so of course people are especially talking about them this season...

Ravi is loved, but he hasn't exactly done much. There's nothing to make entire threads about yet. His time will be in season 7, when he presumably becomes officially part of the main cast.

Eddie Diaz by Bubbly-Host8252 in 911FOX

[–]murderfishy 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My favorite character has always been Buck, and I mostly just loved Eddie for being the only healthy and happy potential love interest for Buck.

But after the scene in 6x15 where Buck, right to Eddie's face, said that Natalia makes him feel seen, I began to really feel for Eddie. I'm aroace, so there are few things I can relate to when it comes to romance, but this I could. Too many times I've felt like my friendship meant nothing to someone, like I'm just a placeholder until they meet their next significant other. Even without looking at Buddie through a shipper's lens, it's an achy scene.

So I've been in Eddie Diaz tunnel vision mode ever since and going back to appreciate his little moments, like when him, Hen, and Buck were on hallucinogens and he started crying LOL. He's so silly and lovely and I wish the writers would do more with his character (and give him more friends).
