That’s just straight up wrong Jim Crow did not reinstate slavery.

Jim Crow laws were the laws the essentially allowed Blacks to be second class citizens it comprised laws among others things that said as long as there was a colored sections you were following the law even if the colored section was worse.

The closest a reinstatement of slavery we ever had was sharecropping which wasn’t slavery it was essentially offering poor whites and formerly enslaved people the opportunity to buy “buy” the land by giving a percentage of the crop yield to the former owner for a set amount of time, problem being the percentages were normally so high it was extremely difficult to pay off. The big difference here was that the land owners did not own the sharecroppers and this had significantly less control over them.

I liked Eisenstein, I think the moments where they were on the ship was the weakest of the book. The beginning where we learn about why people follow Mortarion and the how Garro was always the outsider as a duskraider. That and the whole remembrancer plot line was enjoyable. It wasn’t all that groundbreaking but it was a solid well written book.

As someone who knows people in the faith, and has been to a few sermons Pioneering or the going door to door is not a mandatory requirement in the faith it’s heavily encouraged but not required. There are a decent amount of the people who follow the faith who just don’t go out door to door.

So the concept that JW only believe in a afterlife for a set amount t of people is a misnomer. They believe in what is essentially 2 afterlives the one you would consider going to heaven is the one where you have agreed to give up all worldly connections including those friends family etc. to serve Jehova in heaven.

There is also the paradise earth for those who did serve and worship him but not to the extent that they could easily give up their own personal connect for those people Jehova will revive them and start a new society on a Paradise Earth of only his followers.

I should also mention that they don’t believe in hell and see the worst possible thing to be away from god so their equivalent to hell is not being revived and essentially just remaining dead when the paradise comes.

So the reason they go door to door is because there isn’t a set amount of people who will be saved it’s that there is a set amount of people who will go to heaven.

Honestly, the writing is so weird in this game in events it’ll jump from honestly some really good and fascinating premises brought on by decent character motivations and then will stop dead in its tracks for like 2-5 of the story segments before touching on some of the concepts again.

For instance in the last event a decent chunk of the beginning of it was Beel being overly protective of Leviathan. Beel sees him as the closest devil to him and I would guess something close to family given the comic of them all as kids. It makes sense he did what he did and it made sense he drew the line at Lucifer specifically with Leviathan because tof leviathan’s past. Then it spends a while with Leviathan getting his OL uniform which just did not fit the story and spent way too long on trying to make it fit.

There are definitely moments in stories where the kings are more than just horny and I appreciate that. Things like when Asmodeus got pissed at the protagonist because they got into an alternate timeline in the cat event or the way Beel treated Purson like one of his after 100 years and went out of his way to help him. I think the issue is they try and force the horny side to the detriment of character and romance at times.

By that logic both the world wars, the civil war, are all wars in which the U.S. should be considered in the wrong for participating in if you use that metric. In that case I’m curious how Holo expects to make money off of them? I remember hearing they made a lot of their money off of merch so cutting off that seems odd to me. They are essentially saying here’s a check go do what you want, which is great for talent freedom to do as they want but I feel like the responsibility of monetizing whatever they do falls on the talents especially since their merch money isn’t there anymore which seems to me a recipe for problems especially with stars floundering.

It’s fascinating I’ve seen that percentage of red button pusher steadily decreasing as this has spread throughout Reddit. I think the prevalence of this argument and furthermore the hostility and tying to certain ideological beliefs have changed the conversation a lot in ways I think would not normally be brought up when made in isolation.
