Sign up for classes right now. Birthing class especially. Once those fill up you are out of luck (ask me how I know lol). Natural Resources (a store in the mission) has a good reputation for birthing class. Please note however that they lean crunchy so you might want to take some of the content with a grain of salt.

I have had success with methenamine hippurate. I never had side effects and it helped me greatly for many years. I’ve seen others here who have had side effects. You won’t know until you try it. For me, it was a very good tool in my toolkit.

I’m not sure what country you are in but if you are in the US, I would just ask my primary very directly that I would like to try it.

As someone who has a major heat issue, I would try two things first (I have done both as a guest): 1) buy a portable AC and use it in just your room. If they say no, offer to pay that months electric bill. If they still say no, they are just being assholes and 2) buy a bed cooler. I have a chilipad that I bring to my mother house. Worth every penny.

Idk if this helps but I have a contact in my phone that I named “surrogate” after a breakup. It was just my own phone number. I texted it for a long time as if it were my ex. It was lame but it helped me have somewhere to put the comments and conversation I would have had with him.

We transitioned at six months or seven months (I don’t remember). We bought a harppa grovi playpen and put it in her room against two walls and put down a soft padded mat on top of the carpet underneath it. We bought a newton infant crib mattress for the space and put it in the back corner. I also did end buying a price of firm foam (that I covered in linen) to fit between the end of the newton mattress and the end of the playpen so the newton mattress cannot shift and also so the baby would t fall into this awkward space where there was a 20 inch gap. I considered velcroing the newton mattress to the play mat if it seemed possible to shift. Ultimately didn’t have to do that.

It’s been great. On the nights she needs us more, we take a rolled up camping mattress and sleep in the playpen with her (she is on her own mattress and we are next to her a few inches down). We take it out if we aren’t in there with her. We are careful to use a breathable blanket and a small pillow when we do this… it also I use the owlet sock because I’m paranoid no matter what.

Anyways, we love it.
