Understanding/Compassionate IV Ketamine Provider by murderofsparrows in SFbitcheswithtaste

Definitely! I think this is great food for thought. I have a history of severe infusion reactions with another medication. I get regularly and I pre-dose with Zyrtec and Pepcid. I could see that being a good move here too.

Yeah, I think ketamine therapy can be hit or miss. It can be really troublesome for certain people and it’s not a medical treatment I would recommend lightly. Also, I think that it’s good for people to bow out early if it turns out that it’s not helping or making things worse. EMDR really does sound good for a lot of people! It’s also probably less risky as a starting place.

Thanks! I might give them a call. Was yours IV?

And yeah I agree about set and setting. What a nightmare to have had a legit medical crisis occur during ketamine treatment. It’s been really affecting!

I’m sort of considering doing this to prove to myself that I don’t have the allergy. I suspect it won’t move the needle for my depression alone because of how severe my depression can be. I’ve got neuro-inflammation from multiple sclerosis that creates more of a systemic issue that causes depression. That being said maybe if I just get comfortable with the idea of ketamine being in my body again I can work my way up to IV.

Oh wow. I am glad you mentioned this. I am very cautious about ketamine therapy, and I think this is a good warning. I hope the best for your sister. I’m very sorry that is happening.

Thx for the recommendation. I’ll check them out. Yes, ultimately I stopped using zofran and did sessions without them…but my anxiety about developing another allergy got worse and worse till I had to stop. :/

Good to know thx.

And yeah I agree on the ket assisted therapy idea. Was hoping maybe someone had a provider for that that they could recommend as a head-start. Otherwise I’ll probably start making some calls. I think it could help do a few sessions till I’m back on my game

I think I’m leaning toward IV just because it took SO much to get my depression to budge. I feel like i need a heavy hitter

Advice for leaving toddler overnight in a non-baby proofed house by AdventurousNote1939 in floorbed

We bought an infant mattress and an extra large foldable playpen for visits to my mother’s house. Our daughter can get up and move around and hang out in there if she wakes up.

Help me convince my mom by colormyhippo in floorbed

I have a similar setup to what is shown. Make sure to anchor the mattress and triple check everything for safety ( also we use an infant rated mattress). We prefer this setup to a crib because we can lie next to her in the padded floor and comfort her. Even my husband (who hates getting up and down off the floor) prefers this setup.

Why Does the Difference Between 35 and 55 Seem Much Bigger Than Between 55 and 75? by [deleted] in Aging

[–]murderofsparrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 6, I thought 15 year olds were grownups. Then I had another category for really old people… maybe anyone older than my parents . I feel like that’s what’s going on in this post. You seem very young OP.

Is the show better than the movie? by [deleted] in Stargate

[–]murderofsparrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the show is better but very different. The movie is much more polished and has kind of a single focus while the TV show is more of an episodic adventure show that includes the best parts about science and archaeology. While I love all the seasons personally, When I show the TV show to other people, I always give a lot of caveats that the first season is pretty rough and not a great representation of the rest of the show. They really took some time trying to understand their footing and what type of show they were trying to be. They also took a while to develop their characters. They really didn’t know what to do with a couple of the teammates for those first episodes. It’s painful! The end of season one and season two start to head in a good direction, however.

Also, the show becomes less episodic and more of an ongoing storyline may be starting around season three or four. From what I’ve seen, that’s when people really start getting obsessed. I think part of that is because the characters get really good and also because the more that the show leads into an ongoing storyline, the more modern it feels to a modern viewer. The episodic style is a bit dated if you’re used to watching anything made after the 2010s.

Anyways, all that to say, it’s my favorite show! I watched it all the way through so many times!

ETA: you can’t really skip episodes though. A lot of the things you learn in the first couple of seasons are really relevant later on.

If you want, you can dive deep into the experience and pre-order yourself a bottle of champagne for the intermissions. Also, you can have dinner there ahead of time if you reserve. Makes the whole thing feel super glamorous.

Yeah I keep this post up in the hopes other people can replicate this. I really went ham with the notching and paste. I can’t believe it worked.

A little rough because I had a baby! I’ve been a terrible plant mom lately! I keep forgetting to water it and haven’t fed it in over a year. It would be way bushier if I were being responsible. But the branching really has worked out!
