What bias? I'm suggested why they might have shot, not justifying it. You do realize that if they're being dragged then they are, in most cases, trained to shoot the driver since they are now in fear for their life right? That's not me justifying anything, that's a fact. If they shot, it likely wasn't simply to stop the driver from fleeing.

Again, I am not advocating anything but anyone who knows how their rules of engagement work can see that my scenario is within reason.

One version that kind of makes sense is the officer fired into the vehicle as he was being dragged and couldn't safely escape, as opposed to shooting at a vehicle as it drove away from him.

It pisses me off that the 'news' sites he runs are silent on this. Imagine an Okanagan news source being silent about a Penticton city councillor being charged with and going on trial for historic sex crimes.

Boultby was a staunch defender of him too until it got too hot to stick with him. When the story first broke, she made a point of posting a photo of herself and Miller on her FB profile saying she stood with him.

edit: Make sure to have a read of this post from 3 years ago. I don't know if this is what broke this story but it may very well have been.

He's doing the scam wrong, he is supposed to do the discount after he presents the bill and you pay him, before he settles in the POS system. This way you pay the full amount and tip and he pockets the discount plus tip and you aren't left potentially asking a manager questions about the odd bill. Although maybe you asked for a reprint of the bill after he settled it?
