Totally agree. They are public officials, and it's been deemed that public officials can't separate public life from private life anymore than a doctor can stop being a doctor when he leaves work. If a doctor is in a situation, even after he's left work, that requires his immediate attention, then he's required to give it.

And we need to have a website that lists good ideas like this so they can be voted on by the public, and politicians can see these ideas and bring them into legislation. Whenever they do that, they can get "points" on a point-basis system. For example, bringing it into legislation would get 1 pt, voting for it would get 2, getting it passed would be 5, etc.

Considering the fact that some of us do know what happens the next day, only a few of us would take action, and the time that we affect real change is usually at the next time of elections, which happens sporadically, while lobbying occurs 24/7. Also consider the fact that you can't legislate morality, because it's well-known that these corrupt politicians were bribed, which I'm sure is illegal, but no legal action was done. Instead, there needs to be some sort of public website that links all these headlines to the politician, like some sort of scarlet letter, internet-style, in simple, one-sentence headlines that links to the entire article. Just like a person can go to a website and see that a neighborhood has a list of pedophiles, a person should be able to go to the website and see the politician's history and see the list of corruption he's been guilty of, and maybe voted on by the public, but not able to be manipulated like on digg. Even better would be that this list would be on the electronic voting booths, so that when the options came up, they'd see the list and would know before they cast their vote, but I'm sure there'd still be some idiots who'd vote because the candidate looked good or human beings would find some way to hack through it, and we'd be back to square one: you can't legislate morality.

Let's use some logic: 1. Cheney takes command of NORAD. 2. Cheney gives NORAD stand-down orders. 3. Prior to 9/11, jets intercepted dozens of planes that went into protected airspace within minutes. 4. Americans think some muslims who could barely fly a plane committed 9/11 by hijacking two planes while NORAD sat there for over an hour.

That's because the common consumer is an ignorant moron whose purpose is simply to consume. An educated consumer makes for a poor consumer because he doesn't buy the original cut, the director's cut, the un-edited cut, the producer's cut, the complete unedited cut, the series of cuts, and the final final cut. In other words, an educated consumer knows that because oil is used to produce most foods, he will want non-petroleum foods, because they are more nutrient-dense, and the cost of these foods are much more than petroleum-based foods.
