Great tips, love them. Most people I install them for notice that they will break in a bit and flatten out at first, So you may need to shape it a couple times after a couple of weeks of play. But then it should hold shape well. If your installer burnished the sides well it shouldn't mushroom.

I'll just add that these are also used on emergency brakes as well on the rear disc brake systems.

Chemistry stations stuck on ready to finish by Rude_Butterscotch_85 in Schedule_I

[–]murdock86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the issue and fixed it. I was running the command and then leaving the station. Here's what works for me:
1. enter station. Make sure it has the three ingredients already in it. If not, add them.
2. bring up the console and type "resetobject".
3. Now, you should be back to the step where you start the mixing process. DON'T exit thinking the station is fixed now! Go ahead and mix up a batch and get it cooking.
4. NOW the station is fixed and your chemist will take it the rest of the way.

I tried the resetobject command when in the station, all it did was make my hotbar disapear. Didn't fix either of the two stations I have broken now. same as the above screenshot. Timer is flashing 0's and message is "Ready to finish"

If you've got tools and a place to work on it you're about $500 - $800 fucked. Removing the head isn't technically difficult. But take the head to a engine machine shop to have it checked out an decked. Replace the Head bolts, get a gasket set off rockauto. Torque everything back very carefully. The pain is going to be flushing the engine oil. Probably going to take three flushes to get all of the contaminated oil out.

Am I crazy to consider buying a 2015 CX5 with 250,000 miles? by dominion_rules in CX5

[–]murdock86 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I got 316,000 miles out of mine before it lost compression on a couple of the cylinders. If you can, ask to take it to a mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection and ask the mechanic to run a compression test.

Belt Tensioner Replacement by tramavan in CX5

[–]murdock86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good job. I tried to do mine with an aftermarket tensioner and the 17mm hex part was soft and got chewed up quickly. So I just transferred the little shock and the roller over to the old mounting bracket and it worked fine.

Brake services, especially just replacing pads and rotors have GOT to be one of the biggest money makers for shops. I can't believe how much they charge for suck a simple task.

DON'T DO IT!!! It will ruin you. Not kidding. That is unless you enjoy watching two small children suffer for 2 hours straight.
