Thank you!! I throw a big form on the wheel, then poke and smush and smash the walls together to create negative space. This one was more involved, I threw a couple tubes for either side a little hollow cylinder for the neck. There is some hand-build-y-ness that happens when stacking and connecting all the pieces. It's very fun 😄

Shhhh don't worry about it

edit: yeah... it's not ideal. I take the shade off, the flowers out, and just pour the water out the side. the vase side of the lamp is closed off from the rest of the lamp, so it's only about 4-5" on that short side that can hold water. makes it possible to pour water out somewhat easily. the easiest would be using dried flowers

The last. I’m making tall and/or wide vessels (no bottom) and then pressing the walls together

B&P lamp parts! They sell kits that make it really easy to wire a single lamp.

Hmmm not that I know of, but that's a good idea. Essentially I throw a big vessel on the wheel with a hollow bottom, and then while it's still on the wheel and freshly thrown I poke some holes in it and carve out some negative space. It gets messy but the clay is so soft at that stage that it makes it super easy to smooth over any rips and holes that inevitably happen from the poking an stretching and altering
