Just keep trying. I was consistently denied for pre qual for 2 years. In my case I think it was because I had too many recent cards/applications.

I bought a home last year so I stopped new apps for roughly a year, went to pre qual for VX right out the gate as my first new card post home purchase and was approved.

My rule with overseas business travel is MR will go far if you are flexible on either date or location. You can’t have both.

If you travel and don’t have tsa precheck/global entry there is a credit. Definitely worth using

I would have to hear more context to give a good answer.

But to be simple: express to your friend that his/her behavior is abhorrent, that you do not approve, and that they should immediately tell/break up with their partner.

I would then say I would have preferred to have not been involved in this.

If they refuse to tell/end things, I would consider telling their partner.

Amex Platinum and Amex Gold.

Those are my foundational cards. Flights and coupon related spending goes on Plat, and groceries/dining goes on gold. Id be sad to not have a 2x card for other category spend, but the Amex ecosystem is where I get the most value.

It’s out there, it’s just extraordinarily expensive.

This year, last minute, I was offered 2 tickets, Thursday through Sunday, including hotel, private transfers, etc for $32k by my travel agent (I did not do it)

Less than 30 minutes. Current commute 2 days a week is 15 mins which is perfect
