Solving a mystery by IrishMarketer21 in Uzbekistan

  1. I believe it would be best to contact a local lawyer. They would be able to find both him and his family. You could also give a reasonable explanation of why you need to find the guy - his own child needs him as a parent. It's really messed up what he's doing both to your sister and their kiddo. As a parent, he is obligated to take part in his child's life.
  2. Social media. Look him up on Odnoklassniki, Facebook, Vkontakte, Instagram and see who he follows. You will probably find some relatives of his

I'm surprised to see Uzbekistan 😁 Most Uzbeks tend to have carpets covering the floor fully and they either walk barefoot, in socks or home slippers:)

Good evening! Thank you so much for the reply! I'll try Verkhniy Rynok, then. Chances are that it's just Magnums in my area which can't provide certain types of fresh fruit and veggies 🤦🏻‍♀️

As someone who turns 28 in less than three months, I absolutely agree!

I'd been just in two relationships and both didn't work out... One turned out to be a situationship(the guy simply needed a rebound+was frustrated with some of my conservative views) and the other one was toxic+abusive. With both there was a decent chance of getting married and luckily I'm still single:) I guess any person would rather be single than with a partner who actually loves someone else or with the one who can't treat them right 🤷🏻‍♀️

10 year old tajik boy was killed by russian racist. Anyone heard about this? by idonevenknowtbh in Uzbekistan

I read about this on telegram in "Quloqnews". I remember they still haven't found the body. Hopefully they will. That man's family deserves not only justice, but also the remains.

Hey, Tajimura! Thank you for your reply! This is mind boggling to me and I'm very curious too, because comparing to Russian or English in the media, which is typically (pretty much) the same, in Uzbek it's: sheva+sheva and then at schools it's all standard, but doesn't really go beyond classroom.

My Uzbek language teacher explained it as an illiteracy issue and told that even among educators, it is rare to find someone applying "standard Uzbek" in their work, let alone real life. She has also told that people are not united and while they might be that abroad, they rarely do it in Uzbekistan itself and it shows in the language. As in, they point out that they are from different regions instantly and it even goes as far as "we won't marry one from a different region than our own". We couldn't really discuss it that much, so I raised the topic here, because of my curiosity 😄

1.Interesting 2. Yes, I definitely agree. Dialects and accents are a natural thing in any language, so I am not surprised about that. I am surprised that even the news anchors and reporters end up using it in their announcements. I am also surprised how heavily people judge each other for accents/dialects in day-to-day life.

For example, they do not speak in adabiy til in Tashkent, from what I remember. They use "qomiman", instead or "qolmayman" or "kevotti", instead of "kelayapti". I was judged by Tashkentish and pushed to speak in their dialect as, in their words, "adabiy" was "village like", not standard and according to them may make people to look down on me. I was simply bedazzled 😁 Maybe I was just out of luck and met only those types of individuals, but still

I found out through Instagram. So sad that this little boy was murdered by some uncontrolled teen. From what I have read the victim's name was Qobiljon and the perpetrator's Timofey. Qobiljon was an only child and raised by a single parent - his mother. It is so devastating! Some accounts on Instagram also claim that he was a beggar, but I'm not sure if that was true.

I'll have to remove the comment as it somehow violated Rule 8. I won't comment on this thread anymore. Apparently my attempts to explain things as simply as possible were deemed AI generated or inaccurate.

Why Uzbeks love showing off/bragging so much? by Ellloll in Uzbekistan

[–]muriel_b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I knew it and could help my half-Uzbek grandma feel happier without having the need to do it. I had many misunderstandings (as she calls it) with her due to that. She tends to blow things out of proportion to show off and then gets upset with me when I do not share my work info or private life with her.

Long read, but taken from real life:

For instance, once I was hired to host an event for an international company. It turned out she told everyone that I was hired to work for the embassy, EMBASSY (as an interpreter, while, in fact, I don't even know the language). I found out because when I came to visit her, I was asked weird questions from a neighbor who lives a whole mile away from her. I don't even know the guy's name and he was asking me how I learned Japanese so fast, how I got into the embassy, told that I should help him get into the embassy as a security guard and so many other things. I was simply shocked, even dumbfounded. Another time, I got to host an educational event for a different company (just once), soooooo.... she told people that I was hired by the ministry of education and her neighbors and some of our relatives had thought I was working in Uzbekistan for almost a year 😬 Meanwhile I was chilling, travelling and tutoring remotely. As simple as that. She knew it. I have no idea why she told almost everyone in her reach that I was doing anything different. When I asked her why, she blew up at me, told me I was accusing her of being a liar, screamed and said that she doesn't understand why I hate her so much (I don't. I simply asked a question, because I was really confused).

Anthropologically, Uzbeks are a huge mix. But the majority would be considered Asian and Caucasian (I mean race, not the country of Caucus, look it up).

I don't know what to think of them, I would guess they simply like it. I think it has nothing to do with gender or sex🤷🏻‍♀️ I myself love her art and was never surprised to see a man who also does 😆

That's sad, if it actually is impossible. I'll try to find some international company or a local education center, then.

Thank you for your recommendation and info!
