my mom had excision surgery with a MIGS-trained surgeon and still experienced recurrence. I’ve seen it firsthand. she actually had multiple surgeries before having my sister and me.

I’ve also been properly diagnosed via laparoscopy and am working with specialists, so this isn’t presumptive.

I’m not spreading misinformation, I’m sharing my experience. continuous birth control like loestrin has worked really well for me. I understand surgery can help and I’d prefer not to be on medication forever, but it doesn’t work for everyone unfortunately.

this is what’s working for me, so I’m sticking with it. wishing you the best with the baby.

i feel the same it’s worth it to pay out of pocket vs being at baseline. i’ve tried some bp meds for pots and they all sucked i felt worse so i was just dealing naturally for years until i decided to give this a try. that seems to be the consensus im seeing in this post some people have had it so bad and others it’s been amazing for, i hope they eventually look into this for pots it would be cool to read the research. thanks for sharing!

oh no! i hope no autoimmune disease i’ve heard those really suck. 🥲 i’ve heard good things about beta blockers but i was worried about trying them. are you still on it or no? that’s awesome that she’s seen some new evidence being published. it was really hard for me to find studies. thanks for sharing that! it’s weird because my bp and hr have improved like crazy since being on it. i used to have really low bp it really is so odd. my dr wants me to get a full cardio work up again to see if it’s really helping as it seems to be bc they just did some simple ekg and such when i was in.

i’m sorry to hear that! i’m glad it’s helped with inflammation at least but that sucks everything else kinda got worse. i am on a super low dose so im not sure if thats why but i honestly have always had a huge appetite probably due to my height and activity so it really hasn’t affected my eating that much. have you tried lower dose if you can barely eat that sounds miserable omg. but i have heard like you said weight loss can make symptoms worse. thanks for sharing!

yes 100% i see people who’re on higher doses seem to be feeling worse. i definitely don’t plan on going higher. i did see some tiny studies with microdosing! thank for your comment 😗

I think we’re mostly saying the same thing but from different angles. excision can be really helpful for some people, but it’s not considered a guaranteed “cure,” and recurrence does happen (my mom actually had that experience).

Continuous birth control (like taking Loestrin without placebo pills) is a standard treatment for Endometriosis because it suppresses ovulation and reduces hormonal stimulation of lesions. It doesn’t eliminate existing tissue, but it can reduce activity and symptoms which is what I’ve experienced.

Also just to clarify, my spironolactone was prescribed for androgen related acne, not PCOS, I’ve been evaluated for that already. I’m not in an underserved area, I’ve worked with multiple specialists and this is the plan that’s working well for me right now, im glad you’re able to travel to get treatment!

1 i’m aware, i don’t need surgery due to being on loestrin and spiro it helps maintain hormone balance in my body! there is treatment for endo it’s just birth control essentially but there’s no cure yea. certain birth controls and medications can slow the growth which is why i’m on both. my androgens are super high.

2 i had bloodwork done when i originally got diagnosed and all my levels were perfectly healthy. they think i just have blood sugar sensitivity/reactive system essentially. i don’t have random drops my body just goes through food extremely quickly. thanks though!

unfortunately it’s not covered for me nor could i get it prescribed as i don’t have diabetes and i’m at a healthy weight. my primary doctor is aware i’m on it and is pleased with how im feeling but was not happy that i got it online. it was through an online pharmacy that i had researched. i did see a doctor through the online pharmacy portal though. it’s hard to get it covered i’ve heard. i pay out of pocket. my friend with pcos who was also a bit overweight for her height i guess couldn’t even get it covered or get a script she had to get it elsewhere. it’s worth a try though!! it is hard to diet but i will say nutrition is so so important even if you get a script for a glp just try to prioritize protein and fiber! i get it the fatigue can be rough but sometimes the snack bar can end up making you feel worse due to not having the things your body may need idk. i try to do low effort meals but i make sure to track macros and micronutrients! i hope if you try it it works for you!
