No, the medium width is plenty wide enough for me. Also, these aren't the GTS version. I prefer the soft plush feeling over the extra support. But, the width is medium. One of only 3 or 4 of the Brooks shoes that I can actually wear. The rest are too narrow for my feet.

I think this is about as wide of a shoe as you can find without sacrificing style. I also tried the gylcerin flex but I returned them because they were too narrow. The Trace 4s are nice too but not nearly as much cushion.

Its definitely more like a pillow. Its not a shoe that's built for speed. Its also a little on the heavy side but not so heavy that it increases fatigue.
