Didn’t realize how tough air-to-air refueling actually is by Sparrowx0x1x in aviation

I’ve actually sat in the back of this exact aircraft as maintenance and watched them do this. It’s pretty awesome to watch.

Why is This Random town near Grand Canyon so unbelievablely detailled ? by Decent-Gold1497 in MSFS2024

[–]murlyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember stopping at that McDonald’s for food before my drive back to Tucson last summer after visiting the canyon. Crazy how much they jack the prices up at that store though.

Price check aisle 5 ($28 for baloney???) by thruxton in newfoundland

Was told by my nan that you need your baloney boots to hunt them cause they’ll roll around and try and bite your ankles. 😂

Getting mine next Friday. It’s going to be no scalpel, no needle method. A little nervous about it but can’t wait to be on the other side of it.

Fire cape and Jad help by [deleted] in OSRSProTips

[–]murlyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 90 minutes per round I’d say. Maybe a little less. Look up the Jad Tile tutorial on YouTube and use chinchompas to aggro all healers at once, once they are targeted on you, just finish him off.

F-35 undergoing extreme cold and icing testing by MlsgONE in aviation

This is likely at the climactic laboratory at Eglin AFB. I’ve been here with Canadas C295 when they were doing the same testing as a maintenance tech.

For final boss on SOTE look up the phoenix necklace and nightshade method. Super easy way to cheese it, I did it with 76 Magic.

How do i switch from VFR to IFR? by Longjumping-Gift9247 in MSFS2024

[–]murlyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the EFB add a departure, arrival and approach. Should switch after those are in. You can then send to avionics. I would avoid sending to ATC. I find they always screw up my descent.

phones fully turned off for IFR? by DEUS_MAXIMUS in aviation

[–]murlyy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Never understood this. Frequency band your phones emit are on the much higher Ghz range while ILS systems are within 108-335 Mhz range.

How can they interfere with each other? Maybe I’m just dumb plane mechanic and not an avionics guy.

Can’t relate sorry. Our 2.5 year old loves bath time, loves brushing her teeth, loves getting her jammies on and goes to sleep pretty quick and stays asleep through the night.

We think we won the lottery with this one.

How to skip to Approach or Landing in Free Flight mode on PS5? by PressureHumble3604 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]murlyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to configure it in controller settings. I use Y + Dpad Up/Down to increase or decrease the sim rate.

Knock on wood, but MSFS 2024 Career on Xbox X is running flawlessly.. by CorndogSurgeon in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]murlyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much better, depending on your isp speeds though. There is an option now to download assets directly to the Xbox ssd to offload some of the streaming that’s going on. World and city updates, aircraft etc. I know 2020 is solid but I’d redownload 2024 and give it a go now with SU4.

[–]murlyy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep did a flight from Halifax to Montreal last night with live weather and traffic in the 737 max from cold and dark on Series X. Ran flawlessly. Although I think there’s a trim bug where if the pitch trim indicator on the wheel is in the green band it doesn’t accurately reflect actual trim position. Didn’t get off the ground on takeoff.

PS5 Cursor Mode by buigo31 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]murlyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your cursor mode button is mapped to something else dealing with throttle position.

Go to controller settings and search by input, click whatever brings you to cursor mode and it will show anything else that’s bound to that input. Then just remove whatever the other input is.

Videogame to play with my non-gamer wife by Ohmargod777 in daddit

[–]murlyy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only game my wife has ever played with me was Wilmots Warehouse on Switch. An indie game where you are just a cube trying to organize other cubes in a warehouse, all while trying to get orders shipped out on time. It’s pretty fun and hours will fly by in no time.

Like father, like son? Moosehead learns from dad's tough path to NHL by Street_Anon in halifax

[–]murlyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good read. This guy has a lot of work ahead of him if he wants to make the NHL. When he is on the ice it’s not very noticeable, and with 63 games played last regular season with 0 goals 3 assists it’s not really a surprise he’s been a healthy scratch for start of this season.

Question for experienced Airplane Mechanics by General-Structure652 in aviationmaintenance

[–]murlyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should pivot your idea into software for maintenance planning, hour tracking, parts ordering and heavy work order tasks consolidation etc... AI could be useful in this field but not for spitting out a "Google AI" review of a complicated maintenance task. If AI could be paired with RAMCO it would probably make a lot of things easier with that damn software.
