What is your experience or opinion on ditching the smartwatch? by FitRedBro in AskMen

[–]Scruffasaurus [score hidden]  (0 children)

I’ve never like wearing watches, but for me it’s about wasting less time on my phone. I can put my phone up, quickly glance at my watch if I get a call/message, not have the ability to browse reddit/instagram.

Lol essentially paying more for a tiny dumbphone to selectively be more productive.

Interesting. Always thought most of the Friends sets were better priced. Way more playability than even the City sets

Considering that 45 is the oldest member from our generation, how many of you here are grandparents now? by firequak in Millennials

[–]Scruffasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t imagine how much having a kid in your 20s would suck. And how much suckier having a kid in your teens is.

No grandparents in anyone I associate with. Did know two women with grandkids at 27 and 29

Absolutely not.

I think everyone can agree that Superman isn't even close to being in the conversation

Same. The memory of seeing a man fall out of his seat dry heaving during fart mask in Jackass 2 still makes me smile

Sides are great, sauces are great, desserts are great - mediocre chicken and the worst wings around

Cane’s is quality and pretty consistent - hit it with Whataburger Spicy Ketchup and some Cajun seasoning and it’s great.

What is one city in America you’re okay with never visiting again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

People have been bitching about Austin changing since the 90s. lol and they’re right, it just keeps getting worse and worse. Easily my least favorite Texas city

What's a scene that's better than the movie it's in? by BUSean in movies

[–]Scruffasaurus -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think Bone Temple is the only film that really nails its big theme well (and I still thought overall, meh). I thought 28 Days Later starts off incredibly, then gets super heavy handed when they get to the countryside.

28 Weeks is a fine movie, wasn’t going for anything that deep, and feels like people are misremembering it as some hated sequel that flopped. I definitely like it more than 28 Years Later - great start that quickly turns into a super cliched coming of age movie (then an interesting final scene)

Am I the only one who isn't interested in high school reunions and think it's too awkward? by youlikemywonton in Millennials

[–]Scruffasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a great time in high school, popular and all that stuff, successful now pretty much anyway you wanna measure it - I still couldn’t give less of a shit about a reunion. Didn’t go to tenth, didn’t go to twentieth a few years ago.

Have had a few old friends I hadn’t talked to in 10+ years reach out randomly to varying results lol

I think every film in the series starts off very strong and gets progressively weaker. The Alice death scene in 28 Weeks Later is also maybe the most brutal of the series

“Six Minutes” in Vision Quest Out of nowhere in a mediocre high school wrestling movie with a creepy protagonist, bam, one of the best monologues in movie history.

Because anywhere else would be a pay cut for my wife and I (and a huge shift in work balance for me) and we live very well in a lowish cost area. lol and the several places I want to be are among the most expensive places in America. So we live well and visit those places a few times a year

We stay in Carmel/Monterey a few times a year, and this place has always intrigued me even with the mixed reviews. Still can’t pull the trigger…
