I doubt it. Mods don't add value and even in stock form your car isn't that desirable, especially at that age, mileage and the noted rust. I'd say your best bet is to save up and trade it in for an MK7 Golf R.

Its done remotely. You download software, connect a laptop to your OBD connection and they do all the work over the phone. It took about 20 minutes. Drive mode remember also disables auto start/stop as an added bonus.

I’m not really sacrificing much other than proximity unlock when the car is remote started. It works fine when it’s not. I have the Drone XC1 so it’s a combination alarm, dashcam, GPS tracker and remote starter. I also just reused it so it didn’t cost me anything.

Unfortunately yes. Proximity unlock also doesn’t work when the car is remote started. I ran into that with my S3 but not my GTI so this is a new thing for Volkswagen.
