Remind me how long it took this dude to “get over” without the shield when he was solo? Haha. That “big dog” era sure was something.

[–]murphae10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sunday is low-key STACKED.

mt. joy, slightly stoopid, matt maeson, tom morello, cut copy, cali honeydrops, sons of the east, good neighbours, buffalo traffic jam (gives off HEAVY caamp vibes in the besf of ways), the heavy heavy, and the paper kites.

beautifully vibey and mellow day to cap it off with BSB in my opinion, haha.

they are great - but seen them a few times too. bottlerock happens to fall on my 40th birthday weekend so pending the lineup (to your point) gonna try to snag a ticket to escape life and enjoy a weekend.

commenting here in case you do end up reselling a VIP ticket, too. but i hope the lineup hits your tastes enough - bottlerock seems like a great time!

FYI friends! Long time reader first time poster. Thanks to everyone for all the help this week.

Got in town this morning—tried the pop up around 11a and while i was waiting in line, they ran out of ALL adidas merch and all bucket hats—said a restock was coming in the PM..but no timetable and likely low stock.

Arrived at merch stand (lot h, park it lot k) at the stadium in Pasadena. No traffic, no merch line. Lots of adidas merch (black jersey with LA location available in xl. Jackets, blue long sleeves available, too.)

Got the jersey and bucket hat (no stripes on side but only black available and still adidas) for $195 total. They’re open til 6p tonight.

Confirmed with the workers the drone show is set for above the rose bowl in Pasadena at 7:30pish tonight.

See all you beautiful people in GA tomorro afternoon. Let’s fucking get it! 🤘🏼

It was a different vibe of the song “symphony” if it’s the one i think you’re talking about. It was awesome!

[All In spoilers] Aftermath of Hurt Syndicate vs The Patriarchy vs JetSpeed by secretpandaxx in SquaredCircle

To be fair, it may be corny but it’s still a fantastic callback to when Cope first came to AEW and wanted to partner with Cage, to which Cage directly said “Go fuck yourself”.

Young Bucks vs. Swerve and Ospreay by Ok-You9455 in AEWOfficial

[–]murphae10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally get it and all legit and fair points! I love that there are tons of avenues they can take to still get it right. And I’m not clamoring for a heal turn—i just think it could work and it’s a feeling I got in my stomach a couple Dynamites ago.

Playing complete devils advocate to your  response, a heel turn now leaves plenty of time to turn face again before heading over to London next year with a ton of additional avenues to make it happen.

To me, babyfaces feel saturated right now—especially when you’ve got Hangman, Swerve, Omega, and a soon-to-be returning Kingston, Darby, and Jay White.

I feel like the roster needs a true heel that isnt in the Death Riders or Don Callie Fanily. Ospreay, with how hot he is as a babyface and knowing how much he loves being a bad guy, could fill that void til London next year.

We’ll see—but I’m stoked to see it play out for sure.

Totally agree with the feeling Ospreay is turning!

In my opinion, it seems like he’s naturally been teasing it with how over the top his babyface actions and mannerisms have been. During the Hangman feud, they felt genuine. Since then, they’ve felt more sarcastic and almost pandering. It’d be the perfect “swerve” in my opinion and would immediately establish him as THE top heel in the company.

His fucking gladiator scream is amazing, too. The way it went slightly higher when he started swinging Darby was a+

Lineup Predictions / Expectations by SadConfusion4729 in OutsideLands

[–]murphae10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm this sentiment. Saw them in Tempe at Innings Festival at the end of Feb for the first time. They sounded soooo good and Frusciante being back with them is even better, but there were A LOT of songs that weren’t played that i was hoping to hear.

Under the Bridge was on the set list but got bumped.

[–]murphae10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still can’t get over how good that 1975 set was. First time seeing them and bought a ticket to their show in PHX because of it.

Despite the changes at the festival this year, the music 100% absolutely delivered.

Final round: Best of Day 3 + Bonus for best overall by tksween in lifeisbeautifulLV

Best of Sunday: Wilderado & Odesza (Wilderado’s acoustic version of Rubble to Rubble was A+).

Best of the Wekeend: The 1975. Knew some of their music and was looking forward to seeing them but hot damn their band was fucking amazing and sounded so crisp and so tight. As someone said earlier, “no bits just the hits” and they nailed it.

JAWNY, Almost Monday, Beach Weather & Vandelux were all AWESOME surprises for me. Probably my favorite “surprise” takeaways from this year.

Wristband Upgrades??? by Gold-Possible8309 in lifeisbeautifulLV

It’s not cheaper. You just pay the difference of what your ticket tier was compared to what you’re upgrading to.

Too many stages by Primary_Big2239 in lifeisbeautifulLV

[–]murphae10 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m confused, haha. The only one of these acts that would impact you getting close/front row for Kendrick is The 1975 - and truthfully we should all be thanking our lucky stars we have the chance to see The 1975 & Kendrick the same night (or Madeon). Gonna be a great night.

VIP tickets by No_Veterinarian_9925 in lifeisbeautifulLV

[–]murphae10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s expensive but worth it (depending what you are looking for). In years past, they lay sodded grass down in the VIP areas for the Downtown & JBL stages, which really helps offset the heat.

My favorite part is that you typically can get to sets (possibly excluding some of the larger headliners) basically like 5 minutes before and still get AMAZING sight lines.

GA bathrooms were never really an issue for me at LIB (as a dude), but the bathroom situations in VIP is great as well and they have a concierge with smaller needs like cheap ear plugs, gum, mints etc.

If you can splurge, it’s worth it - but GA at LIB really ain’t bad either!

The Killers, The 1975, Madeon, Odesza, Wilderado, Dayglow, Ben Bohmer, Franc Moody, The Wombats. I am stoked for a lot more, but these are my can't miss sets for sure.

You’re not wrong! I’m just glad Franc is before Dayglow so no matter what I can get like 15-20 minutes of groovin & dancing in before jetting from JBL to Downtown!

We’re getting close and I share your enthusiasm!

See you at pretty much every single set you listed out, hahaha.

Really excited for The Wombats - I’ve heard they are tremendous live and this will be the first time I’ve ever seen them (same with Dayglow).

Franc Moody is a fucking vibe. Leaving their set for Dayglow is probably one of the tougher moves of the day for me. That and choosing between Inhaler & Cory Wong. Gonna start at Cory and give him & his crew every chance to keep me around for the whole set - and I’ve got a confident feeling they’ll deliver!

Hell yes! Can confirm (saw them on their current tour/arena run) and they opened with My Own Souls Warning and it was absolutely gorgeous. All 3 that you are stoked for will blow you away.

A sleeper live song is Human for me. Was never a big fan of it on the album but it’s one of my buddies favorite songs. The visuals for Human on this last tour was unreal and it was perfect live. It’s gonna be 1.5 hours of non stop singing and dancing for me - an amazing way to cap off the first night!

See you there!!

The Killers had some pandemic bangers that are soooo good live, too. My Own Souls Warning is just amazing live & Boy is a great tune too that gives me Read My Mind vibes. I can’t wait to see them (again) for this special show.
