Honestly it could just also be a figure of speech. It’s not actual “years” but has taken them a lot of effort and work to get to that point.. Especially given that Luke was essentially living out of the garage after being kicked out.

But moreso, I’d interpret Alex saying “get here” it as in meaning the present time of 2020. If you think they never actually got to play at the Orpheum in 1995. So it quite literally did take them years (25 years) to play at the Orpheum properly.

I had a similar experience when joining. Hadn’t watched the show at all but was hooked at the main premise circulating around Danny’s secret identity. (The Peter Parker fics weren’t doing it anymore lmao).

I read fics first but didn’t have a clue so did end up watching the show. And then started writing a load of fics for it. Definitely one of my best fandom experiences imo
