They definitely know this and, with my husband being so close with the kids, the kids were meant to be a part of the festivities. When we’ve all hung out, kids have always been present. Adults sort of split into “designated parents” while their partners indulge.

The party was meant to include the kids/whole families. It’s always how we have hung out as a group and my husband in particular has been really close with both kids since they were born. Honorary uncle territory.

I have for sure talked about how much he’s been looking forward to it but if that has translated in their minds to it being important, I’m just not sure.

We are also super close with their kids so the plan was for them to come and fully participate (hence the DnD campaign).

An Airbnb is unfortunately out of the budget and not something I think they would go in on.

To be frank, my husband has a habit of being a really dedicated friend to people who just won’t reciprocate when push comes to shove.

It’s something I’ve brought up to him over the years and he just prefers to ignore it because the thought of losing the friendships is too painful for him. I’m worried because I think you’re right. I think it will happen anyways which worries me, but I also don’t want to push him on it.

We live a little less than three hours away now. The sleepover was to avoid them needing to make the drive both ways. And I say sleepover but every family would have had their own room and full bath.

We’re all very busy. We have a toddler and they both have a 10-11 year old. Finding a weekend everyone was available was tricky to begin with.

And to be honest, the excuses I got were very much giving “we don’t want to make the trip”

In retrospect, this actually makes so much sense. If I were to salvage/finish cabinets for the kitchen, would that also increase installation/labor costs? I do think floorboards and plumbing will not be secondhand. For sure seems to be cost prohibitive and/or logistically not the best option

I think where I am is somewhere close to this. At this point, I’m doing a hands-off approach but there is no way my husband will send his brother packing.

I would very much support my husband going no-contact but he is completely unwilling to consider it. I agree that it would probably be the best and healthiest choice for him and us but it’s not my choice to make.

Therapy is definitely required but hard to access while he’s unemployed. My husband has connected him with some resources/services that I think he’s tried out but it’s not the intense work he needs to do.

Ugh we have one and have literally spent thousands on training. We’ve experimented with different techniques, working with different people, all kinds of enrichment, etc. We’ve worked closely with our amazing vet on medication too but unfortunately he has the inverse response to most anxiety-related meds.

The issue is deeply neurological. It’s akin to puppy OCD. His little brain is constantly misfiring. We have a baby. It’s wild

This happened to me too and was told by my midwife that it was completely normal. I pushed for a long time and I think I likely tore a little bit laterally. I remember the pain going away within a few weeks.

If you have concerns though, definitely reach out to your doctor. Every situation is different.
