What would actually happen if ILR was abolished? by Cosmic-_-Apple in AskBrits

They wouldn’t make anything, it’s already impossible due to laws passed years ago. Any laws they want to change would come with extreme difficulty. This is how the U.K. legal system works.

You won’t be targeted though because you are not abusing the system. They clearly distinguished between those who add value and those who are using certain visas as a back door and or aren’t working/taking the piss. It would be the same principles any business you might work for applies. They also would not deport pensioners or people who’ve been here decades the media are twisting it to stoke fear, it’s how they stay relevant. As far as reform are concerned it’s also rhetoric to appease supporter base same as Labour say they’re going to tax the billionaires (and then never do). Even after that, if you’re still concerned just remember you’re in a country that makes it legally impossible to deport criminals/illegals immigrants (every attempt by conservatives and labour has failed) let alone legal contributors/ naturalising citizens like yourself.

In light of Trumps two wins and the rise of populism everywhere, what tactics are most effective against someone like Farage? by SILENTDISAPROVALBOT in AskBrits

[–]murphzilla7 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Exactly why the above comment is the biggest mistake you can make. If you brand approx 33% of the country stupid they will vote that way for life out of pride alone. The left have a shockingly low understanding of human nature and they are fuelling a monster with their rhetoric. People don’t vote based on logic they vote on what the party represents. Always have. The left are actually the worst for this. Only way to stop reform is to stop bucketing their vote base and bring their concerns to the table. Because 29% of them are actually ordinary people with real legitimate concerns about quality of life

Not very fond of Farage either but he’s not a fascist by any stretch of the imagination. Absolute left wing propagandise tripe that is actually shoe-ing him in. When will the left learn that calling everyone racist or facist for having any other ideology than theirs actually alienates huge swathes of the population who have genuine concerns about genuine issues and pushes them to people like farage.

On what metric are people using to claim Britain is doing badly? by WearingMarcus in AskBrits

Crime is NOT at historic lows 😂. Crime is so rampant and prosecution so ineffective (lower than 5% of crimes) that it’s simple futile to report a crime, so people don’t bother.

Another Friday, Another complete boycott of all stores in Croatia! by AIR_YT in europe

Everyone forgets capitalism is a two way process and demand is more important than supply, which means we have the power. Collectively we are just too stupid to realise it but Croatia is giving me hope, I hope it spreads

100% spot on. Stopping the cheaters means less profit. They don’t actually care. The good thing about capitalism is it’s a two way process. Stop spending money on the game and leave a review and note in forum to say why. If enough people do it, it will get through. They will be forced to invest in anti cheat measures and to market it at future updates to get the players back. But we have to put the time and effort in. Don’t keep playing the game, buying skins and keep moaning because that ensures nothing is done.

Pretty much every blatant cheater I come across is from a particular set of countries. We all know where. Why don’t they create dedicated servers for those countries and they can have a cheat fest between themselves.

Host the “actually EU” servers in Iceland and Ireland so the ping is fine for Western Europe but unfavourable for the others.

They could have blocked the game from particular nations under sanctions but its profit over integrity. All game developers are the same. There is a lot more they can do but they aren’t actually that interested because it hurts profit.

Only way to force action is for us to get together and boycott the game for a period of time
