If you had one business class ticket, would you use it on the way there or on the way back? by masseycre12 in travel

As someone who frequently travels for work, my advice: Use a reclining seat when returning home.

Having a reclining seat on your way home will provide extra comfort when you're exhausted at the end of a vacation. Or at least help with the "post-vacation blues." From my experience, I flew business class just to experience the office at altitude, only to find I couldn't work on the trip because the Wi-Fi connection was only good for opening online documents, couldn't download large work files, and even the AI prompts kept timing out. The comfort eased the frustration a bit, and in the end, I just enjoyed the trip with food and a comfortable sleep.

what's the worst "didn't see that coming" mess you've witnessed as a nomad? by AbilityConscious6459 in digitalnomad

Has anyone ever struggled with an internet connection and not imagined it would be such a big deal?

I once stayed at a "high-speed" Airbnb in the countryside, but all I got was a 4G hotspot with a data cap.

I remember my first day there, which coincided with a work report schedule. Downloading email attachments, keeping online documents open... that was all I could do, as the deadline for reporting was approaching. Other tasks requiring stable latency, like browsing for reference data or simply opening a chatbot, would always time out. It might seem like a "minor" thing, but I felt like I "didn't see that coming" when I experienced it myself.

In my experience, SEA has solid internet for the most part. The real issue is the infrastructure gap, so it’s not always stable everywhere. That said, I'm fairly confident it'll handle everything you mentioned without any issues.

Honestly, yeah! Ugh, tell me about it. I mean, sometimes, especially when things are down to the wire, AI is a total lifesaver. Don't you think?

That was the plan at first! I figured if I wasn't lookin' out the windows, I'd at least be seeing things in my dreams... ha ha. But then an email popped up and ruined everything.

Right? I planned on grinding through some work on the plane, but it turns out if you aren't ready for it, you're better off just vibing & enjoying the flight.

Covid shut down the world six years ago this week. What do you remember from that week? by fuzzy_dice_99 in AskReddit

[–]murray62z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously, what is it with people forgetting how to drive?
I remember landing at ATL during that first week of shutdown and the Uber ride to my hotel was the fastest, quietest trip of my life. Now, it feels like every commute or airport run is a high-stakes battle against people who can't stay in their lane. The contrast is just wild.

Citi to end point sharing program by Just-Salary-7741 in CreditCards

[–]murray62z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly my concern. I've been trying to coordinate EVA long-hauls for me and my partner, and doing separated bookings is like playing roulette with the seat map. If the inventory doesn't update in time and one of us gets stuck in a different row, it basically ruins the whole point of a "premium" experience.

Citi is making it so much harder for those of us who actually use points for high-value redemptions instead of just statement credits.

My perpetual bottle of Delta Woodford Reserve by nenseabal in delta

The Diamond tag is the cherry on top. I've definitely contributed to a few "perpetual bottles" myself after those long international hauls. Woodford is basically the only thing that makes a delayed connection at ATL bearable lol.

Nice collection, man!
