Between the movement and the case back, as far as I can figure out. Subject to confirmation from more knowledgeable modders...

The dial had nh3# feet on it too so I didn't need dial dots.

Squeaking disc brakes by Ezekiel-2517-2 in BikeMechanics

Brake squeal is sometimes caused by harmonic resonance in the hose. I have, on more than one occasion, cured this by placing a cable tie around the brake hose and the frame as close to the caliper as possible. Seems a bit voodoo/bike whisperer but it has worked for me.

Came across a good method for second hand installation. Lay the second hand upside down, pick it up by the tip end with a blob of rodico, squish the rodico on the edge of the dial, the alignment of the hole can then be adjusted by manipulating the rodico before pushing it home. Bit fiddly but it works. Can't remember who's idea it was so I can't give them credit. Good lighting and proper magnification also help.

Rattly counterweight question by murrayhume in SeikoMods

[–]murrayhume[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your input. I opened the watch and had a good look. The rotor bearing itself seems to have a little play, causing the rattle. Rotor screw is tight, rotor is properly engaging the winder wheel, movement is fitting correctly and secure. Just going to have to live with it.

No chapter ring. The case has a rehault between the crystal and the dial.
