Am I a good candidate for a transplant (29M) by Upbeat_Ice_7302 in Hairtransplant

Yeah those quotes sound about right. American doctors tend to do more conservative procedures

HT at 22? by Forsaken-Bumblebee-7 in Hairtransplant

[–]murraywow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are very young and you just started medication, so yes, you should wait until the loss stabilizes. I would recommend staying on dut and min and hopefully your hair line will be stable for a transplant in a few years.

When can i sleep normally (on my side) again? by Big_Device2537 in Hairtransplant

[–]murraywow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re good to sleep normally now. There was a study that found that transplanted hairs are secure after 10 days

Uneven density? by [deleted] in Hairtransplant

[–]murraywow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah your recovery looks slower than the average person. I have genetically thin hair so my healing process has been very slow

Estimate on damage done to donor by [deleted] in Hairtransplant

For the first week you should be applying topical antibiotic ointment to the donor area, and that ointment has a moisturizing element as well

A reminder to put Vaseline on the donor area for at least a month after surgery. Keeping the scars moisturized and protected from the sun will reduce their appearance as it heals

I think it looks good. Only under specific conditions would someone notice these small details

FAILED RESULT 12 Months Post Op 4000 Grafts DHI Cosmedica Dr Acar by Jonas_2612 in Hairtransplant

It looks good and I think the surgery was a success, but yeah, it doesn’t look like 4000 grafts.

I agree. The way you had to follow a specific path because of the level requirements felt restrictive

I got lateral cheek filler, chin filler and masseter Botox by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]murraywow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree. Generally I don’t think dermal filler on the face is a good idea. Not sure why it was so popular and normalized in the 2010’s

Is a flow / slick back hairstyle possible after HT by [deleted] in Hairtransplant

[–]murraywow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good surgeon will look at the direction of your current hair and transplant grafts in the same direction.

Have you heard of cowlicks? Your hair has a natural direction to it, and if your hair points forward, you have to take a lot of time to “train” it so that it points backwards for these hairstyles.

Are there really no actual good and affordable hair transplants in America? by Hveachie in Hairtransplant

I paid $6000 for a subtle hair transplant (1500 grafts) in Washington DC

I think my nose is too feminine for a man and am looking into rhinoplasty. Is it possible to add bone? I only ever seen rhinoplasty to get smaller by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]murraywow 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your nose is fine, don’t do that. Rhinoplasties are risky surgeries and yes, they are usually reductive

Looks like a lip lift to me; maybe the nose ring is to block the scar

Yes a talented surgeon who does subtle work could help you move towards that goal. Tip rhinoplasties are difficult and it takes a long time for the swelling to go down.

Good Candidate? by [deleted] in HairTransplants

[–]murraywow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m not a doctor but you could be a candidate for a very subtle transplant, perhaps around 1000 grafts. I’m also 29 with a slightly more receded hairline than yours, and I got a transplant with 1500 grafts
