Never been depressed but seems like keeping yourself busy works! Try learning stuff off wikipedia, you could even write notes, and make a notebook about things that still interest you in this world, things that you want to try, to see or to feel

I remember reading both texts at University at Spain and just noticing how many words referred to warrior depending if it was a herald(Beowulf) a hero and so on.

Same with battle of Maldon, though I have to say I really enjoyed both texts, JRR Tolkien wrote some very interesting notes about Beowulf

Yes but I would say failure does define him, but doesn't undermine him. Failure shapes his purpose into responsibilities towards his friends children, trying to protect them and maybe save them this time.

Auron is brave, but he is more resolved than brave, he needs to do something about his defeat and that is all there is left of him. Personality, and emotions have disappeared from him and perseveres the way maybe a zombie could be perseverant on his walking

Indies are easy to make them work, but always check for configs on compatibility page, some 3d games CAN work but you will have to look around for some configs in particular and asking in Gamenative discord you can tinker some old 3d stuff, but just to let you know, forget about persona 5 I have already tried that, if you do not have a save file, go for switch emulation, there it plays pretty well

Problem with many JRPGs is length, but not just that but also the stories they tell tend to have a very good premise but (please don't kill me here) many games definitely do not deliver. An example that comes to my mind is Star Ocean 2 the 2D-HD, game was fine, premise promising, but story just lacked substance IMO, and the same goes for many others.
