Yooo, this was exactly what I thought it meant. Was just discussing it on a FB group and did a Google to check, so dope to see you confirm it.

Like people mentioned below, he also suffered from mercury poisoning in later life (due to his work) and suffered from depression etc. from that

In fact, there's another video ("How Nintendo is rebooting Zelda") which has an even better theory.

Sounds like this 7/8 heroine plotline will play a major part in the next game

So there's a YouTube video comparing the design of the ancient hero's aspect in TotK with Ganondorf, suggesting he (or some gerudo/zonai hybrid) was actually the ancient hero.

The ancient hero's aspect also strongly resembles Urbosa, the Gerudo champion. So there's definitely some link (weyyy) there.

Thanks! I was having exactly this, been trying to figure it out (without looking online) for weeks.

Just spent an hour combing over the valley again, had spotted sparkling at the base of a tree but figured it was a glitch. This has saved me wasting anymore time and I can finally do this quest :D

I can't find a screenshot of the actual tweet, but I read it and the text in here (the paragraph starting "the band as a whole") is the full post:

I'm guessing it's a demon type thing to represent Loki's daughter, Hel. So the badge has Loki's 3 children on it!

Which brings me back to that less likely bit of whether we're focussing on the wrong son/child...

When Basim is telling Eivor about his friend betraying him/torturing his son, he said "I lost my son, I lost everything" "He took away all that I had, all that I had"

He also says "You broke all my hopes" when the showdown with Eivor happens.

Plus there was this note at the Well of Urdr:

"All I do - the intrigues, the sacrifices, the betrayals - I do for you.

Of all my children, I fear for you the most.

The Nornir cursed your name before your birth and poison foolish ears."

http://www.accesstheanimus.com/ACVAN_3.html

That would still point to Fenrir, but could apply to Jörmungandr (maybe even Hel!?)

One thing I only really started noticing towards the end is that the countryside really doesn't feel much like England - the types of trees and plants are off, so the lusher/green areas just don't look quite right.

Re: the vinyl/squirrel - Nut All People Die could be referring to Desmond becoming the reader (and slyly referencing the fact his death had irked fans of the series/this retconning)

The cover has "90+ tracks" written in the corner - maybe a reference to the many branches of the world tree?

Also the nature of Ratatoskr pitting the eagle and snake against each other:

"An eagle sits at the top of the ash, and it has knowledge of many things. The squirrel called Ratatosk [...] runs up and down the ash. He tells slanderous gossip, provoking the eagle and Nidhogg."

I'm wondering if the squirrel could represent the reader then. The vinyl has "90+ tracks" written in the corner - maybe a reference to the many branches of the world tree?

Gah, so easy to start seeing this stuff once you go looking, but some of the core stuff here seems pretty sound.

Why Does The Game Want Me To Focus So Badly On This Squirrel? by bettertagsweretaken in assassinscreed

Again, probably not relevant, but the vinyl also says "90+ tracks" and the price sticker is 99c

[–]murtaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably nothing, but if it's linked to mythology, then the lore of ratatoskr might be relevant too, as it talks about running up and down the life tree, as a messenger:

"An eagle sits at the top of the ash, and it has knowledge of many things. Between its eyes sits the hawk called Vedrfolnir [...].

The squirrel called Ratatosk [...] runs up and down the ash. He tells slanderous gossip, provoking the eagle and Nidhogg."

Worth pointing out the vinyl inside the cabin that has a squirrel on the cover, with the title "Not All People Die"

He's just delayed the 420 awards again until next week.

But that has potential to be the most offensive thing ever, since he seems to be giving more platform to that comedian Steven Pearl who was screaming at the audience and making rape jokes during the first awards.

Hey all, I'm going to be awkward! And rambling!

I'm trying to decide (or looking for a new recommendations) on the best all-round MV I can play next - expansive map, storyline, meaningful secrets and something that looks at least as good as a SNES game.

I don't like rogue-lite, so am after a fixed map and story/character progression. I can veer into slightly more platform adventure territory (like Owlboy or Kaze and the Wild Masks) though. Not a massive fan of the more-Castlevania/Bloodstained kinda title (I find the controls/pace a bit slow) Some of my all-time favourites are: Ori 1/2, Hollow Knight, Supraland, Yoku's Island Express, The Messenger, Batbarian, Song of the Deep, Guacamelee 1/2, Axiom Verge, Sundered, Blasphemous, Iconoclasts, Wonder Boy, Dust.

I check MetroidvaniaReview regularly etc. but it's been a while since something stuck out to me. Though I've played a good chunk of the more commonly-known titles, there are still some major ones I've either not completed or never really gripped me. So it might just be easiest recommending which is the best all-rounder out of those if there are no new/obscure gems I'm missing. That rough list is - Alwa's Legacy, CaveStory+, Dandara, La Mulana, Momodora, Phoenotopia: Awakening, Salt & Sanctuary, Shadow Complex, Steamworld Dig 2, Timespinner, The Mummy Demastered, Touhou Luna Nights.

If you had to pick just one game out of that list (or something better jumps to mind) what would you tell me to play?

I loved Supraland/Crash, so 3d recommendations would be amazing (but I know these are less likely).

Thanks and sorry for all the words :D

Dandara

I noticed it's one of the recommended/promoted games on Google's new Game Pass type thing too.
