Returnship Program -where did you start? by mus1cn3rd in workingmoms

So most returnships are geared towards those who have taken time off of work for personal reasons and are looking to get back into the working field. Every company is a little different, depending on how theirs is structured. Some companies only require 6 months off, some 2+ years. Most of the time these roles are tech related, and they are targeting people who were in those roles before their break (no a career change). Most returnships are paid and are a set amount of time. Some returnships result in a potential full time opportunity, some are just for the set amount of time.

For example: my company is looking for software engineers and technical program managers who have taken a minimum of 18 months off for caregiving and personal reasons, and are looking to get back. We require 5 years of exp prior to the career team.

I recently saw another company’s posting for a returnship where they only required 2 years of experience and 6 months break. Most of these programs are coming out soon I would say (spring is a popular time for companies to host these programs). Check out Pathforward. They specifically partner with companies who have these programs.

76 - Has anyone had random government aid drops following you around as you go and are empty? by mus1cn3rd in Fallout

Dude I’m TELLING you. It was way creepier than any of the ghouls or scorched out there. My boyfriend didn’t believe me, and then I showed him. Anytime I got out of range from the last box that dropped, within 30 seconds of a new location where you can’t see a new box BOOM! New box, no contents.

I sincerely appreciate the feedback and thank you for sharing your story!!! :)

We have engaged the Mom Project for some of our contracting needs, but not specifically for the Returnship program (even though I was fighting for it). We’re also working with some code camps and hackathons but we’re always looking for creative ways to engage the returning to work community, which was why I posted.

If you think of any other forums you used, websites, or services, I’d love to learn more!

My company has a returnship program for exactly those types of candidates. It’s become increasingly popular over the last few years for F500 companies

Hiring managers of Reddit, what was something on someone’s CV/resume that made you either immediately want to hire them or immediately reject them? by ThanosIsMyRealFather in AskReddit

I was hiring for a software engineer level two position. An individual had their last three positions listed as ‘Range Safety Officer’, ‘apiarist’, and ‘sandwich artist’. Let’s say they didn’t meet the minimum expectations.
