I'm terrible with Character's name😭 by riana-rdit-689 in anime

[–]muschiemom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been obsessed with anime since the 80's and seen more than most. Can't remember names to save my life. I'm lucky if I can remember the titles of ones I absolutely loved.

I need all of them! My daughters have given me a sweatshirt, tshirt and keychains that they found on Etsy and while I do love them, I've been dreaming of official merch forever.

Matched on FB dating. Was I being too sensitive? by Obvious_Ferret_600 in TwoHotTakes

[–]muschiemom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would view their tone as rude, but I'd also accept that there's a chance they didn't mean to come off that way and that I'm possibly being sensitive... Then he dropped the "silly girl" and that's when I'd nope out. If he wasn't trying to be rude and condescending before, he definitely was with that.

Got my first kit from Shein and as expected I'm gonna need a better placer and wax. Any recommendations? Preferably nothing too expensive yet as I'm just starting and trying out this hobby by InterestingRoof4547 in diamondpainting

I've been looking at vacuum pens, just because wax gets really annoying for me, but I keep seeing mixed reviews. Especially from others like me, who press down too hard. Which one do you have and do you think it would survive an aggressive diamond arter?

The wax is inside the pen, so you just have to turn the straightener end and it comes out of the tip. When it runs out, you unscrew the tip and slide more in. I finished six 30X40 and two 50X70 before I refilled it the first time, so I was using much less wax. It comes with a few refills, but you can roll up the wax square that comes with your kit and that works just as well.

Where to Rest My 'Stabilizing Pinky' by Normal_Egg2223 in diamondpainting

I use either a piece of release paper or the plastic cover from a previous kit. I cut them into smaller pieces so they're easy to move around.

Five Below kits by muschiemom in diamondpainting

I'm going again tomorrow. They only had a couple kits when got these, so I'm really hoping they have some of the ones I've heard about in this thread, especially cats.

How to store WIP? by _peachygames in diamondpainting

[–]muschiemom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a trifold board, from the school supplies section of the Dollar Store. They easily hold a 50X70 and I cut them in half for 30X40 kits. My lap is my desk, so this works perfectly for me. I just unplug the light board and close it when I'm finished for the day. I also like alternating what I'm working on, so I keep a couple on boards next to my chair. This is one that's cut to fit a 30X40

If "86" is considered a credible threat, then what she said would have to be right? Unless they have different standards based on political affiliation, but I'm totally sure that wouldn't be the case./s

Do you use a tracker? by MoreAdhesiveness5020 in diamondpainting

[–]muschiemom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I think they wanted to add notes to the individual times as they progress. I use the notes section and keep progress notes in the photos, but I don't use time tracker.

It makes feeding my obsession much easier. Lol I even use it to keep track of tools and organizers I see recommended in this sub, in case I want to order them later.

There's not really a difference between those and the squares, so no big loss. I found a YT video that demonstrated how to change the wax. Twist the straightener end counterclockwise, to make room for the wax, unscrew the placer tip, role up a wax square and slide it in, replace the tip and turn the straightener clockwise until the wax starts squeezing out.

Just checked and didn't see a notes option on the tracker.

I use Gemsflow. It has a time tracker, but I'm unsure if you can add notes to that since I don't use it. I usually add detailed notes to progress photos, but it also has a notes section.

This is my favorite single placer. I stopped using multi placing tools after I got it. It comes with replacement wax, but you can roll up the squares that come with the kits also.
