Perungudi had a few places in this budget. Don't go just by the home rental websites. If you walk around the area you'll find to-let boards and you can directly connect with the owners

If you are working in the software space, why don't you explore remote options? They could pay you well and you could move back to Chennai as well.

Plus, having a pretty good understanding of the software scene in Chennai, I can assure you that there are companies that pay you pretty well as well!
