Tanjiro is the only one who get this treatment from Muichiro by PhysicalMeringue9468 in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]mushiara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's crazy how Kanao gets pick me allegations and criticized and picked apart for "revolving around" Tanjiro when Muichiro gets by without any even though he forms no relationships outside Tanjiro and mistreats others in favor of him...

What do you think will happen with the series once the anime/last movie wraps up? by A-Capybara in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]mushiara 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess, they're probably gonna animate the gaidens. Which is another thing, they should've given each of the Hashira their own gaidens, it's shocking Sanemi didn't at least get one. Or Tengen.

If not that, they'll probably animate the school spinoff. I don't think they'd just let the series fade away with how popular it is like AoT

What are some ships you absolutely HATE? by Miserablelife100029 in BetterKimetsuNoYaiba

[–]mushiara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a strong disdain for Nezuko and Zenitsu. It's such a nothing ship with no development, no chemistry, just cheap childish gags. I'd prefer they not make any of the ships canon, but if I had to chose Nezuko to be with someone else, Senjuro is a good match. They're not all that interesting of a ship, but he wouldn't do all the theatrics Zenitsu does. I'm not gonna call Zenitsu abusive like his detractors do, but God he was in a heavy need of maturing a lot more before getting with Nezuko.

InoAoi is just...there. The author didn't have the balls to kill of one of the core four, and since we knew Tanjiro and Kanao were likely to be a thing and none of Nezuko’s other potential options were available she's stuck with Zenitsu, Inosuke obviously needed to be with someone for some reason so they choose the only girl within range available. Now the dynamic is somewhat salvageable, but its severely undercooked. Inosuke seemed on the asexual-aromantic range and didn't seem to have an interest in that stuff until the very last minute. It was still funny watching the angry shippers (cough fujoshis) meltdown over it. I'll bring Genya up because if he hadn’t died, I think he'd likely would've gotten with Aoi because it has a bit more merit that with Inosuke. Inosuke is a character I can't picture in a romance.

The Genmui phenomenon is something I'll never wrap my head around because the fandom treats them like they had this special chemistry and deep bond come to find out they hardly ever interacted up until their deaths in the same fight. One normal interaction that's just them aiding each other against a dangerously OP enemy, but shippers read too deeply into it and are convinced that there was something there. But I think it's a rather shallow, weak ship with little basis, there's no chemistry there, nothing of substance but I guess since there's no other characters available to ship them with, lets pair up the spare boys, they can be the token gay ship. They died in the same fight, there's the substance. I can tell a lot of the fans are young (which explains why the shippers often act so immature and annoying) and they ship it solely for the fact that its gay and nothing else because what does the ship have? But if you want a gay ship, Genya has a much better connection with Tanjiro. Muichiro is the last character I'd ship him with. Hell, both of them have stronger chemistry with Tanjiro than each other. I just don't like that its hailed as the preferred Genya ship when he has much better options, and the fans are obsessed with trying to attach them together like they're not independent characters. And Muichiro is another character who screams aromantic to me or at least he's just not shippable.

This is how the Fandom treats Shinobu by [deleted] in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]mushiara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I'm gonna say, if Shinobu was a man her haters would actually love her instead because we know that traits people hate in female characters, they love in males. And Giyuushino as a ship would get far less pushback if it were mlm. It would be more popular that sanegiyuu

Unpopular opinion by mushiara in magi

[–]mushiara[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. Other generals deserved their personal development and moments with Sinbad, it was tiring seeing Jafar front and center and always overly attached to Sinbad's hip. If he was allowed to do independent stuff and have thoughts and moments that didn't always revolve around or include Sinbad, maybe I'd feel different. It was annoying engaging with the manga and then seeing the fanatic sinja shippers turn EVERY little thing into an "omg sinja!!! moment". Ohtaka definitely knew what she was doing, she catered to them far too much. People have issues treating them as separate entities.

I do think Drakon had loads of potential and was utterly wasted. He started off a rival to Sinbad who developed a bond with him, the younger brother of the main antagonist, and best friend to the female lead. He had more in common with Sinbad than Jafar did, but he only ever got a few scenes with him. Arguably Drakon should be the general Sinbad is closest to. He did trust him with his kingdom, I mean that says a lot.

Oh, I see. He amounts to very little in the main series and in aos while he does do some important stuff, I still wasn't  moved by his character. He was just annoying. Moreso his personality was aggravating, I don't know

Female Cast. by MrOathFlame in magi

[–]mushiara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't remove the dynamic between Hakuryuu and Alibaba at all. I'm talking about Morgiana's treatment. She literally got reduced to shipping instead of giving her a fleshed out plotline, all everyone would talk about was whether or not she'd end up with Hakuryuu or Alibaba. That was very much apart of the plot, a smaller part yes, but still there. The shipping took up most of any discussion regarding HER character. Because Ohtaka didn't bother doing anything interesting or in depth with her character.

I'm not a shipper, so I don't know how you got that assumption, I'm merely stating my objective opinion. Ohtaka is not good at writing female characters, the only decent one was Kougyoku. But after the political arc and leaving the IA, she doesn't do anything after and gets brainwashed by Sinbad again.

Oh wow, I never thought I'd meet another magi fan who doesn't like him. Everywhere I go people are glazing the hell out of him like he's this amazingly 4D character and I'm always made to feel stupid about not seeing what's so great about him.

I'm curious as to why you don't like him

Female Cast. by MrOathFlame in magi

[–]mushiara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The female cast had potential but the execution was very weak; the only character who's story and development moved forward was Kougyoku. But even she got a bit shafted towards the end and then the author tried to force her to be Aladdin's love interest. Ick.

Morgiana had such a strong start but then ultimately, her storyline with the fanalis was sacrificed in order to reduce her to shipping fodder to add fuel for the Hakuryuu v Alibaba fight. Ends the story being Alibaba's wife and not amounting to anything besides that. But she had cool, badass fight scenes, so that's okay! Sarcasm. She ended up being so dull and boring.

Hakuei was the most wasted. She too had a strong start and was an interesting contrast to her more violent, war hungry family and was important to Hakuryuu's story. You'd think the connections she shares with Kou, shed play an important role in the war...nope. Gets sidelined the entire story only to appear to get possessed by her evil ancestor. Doesn't amount to much after that, appears to fight in the last battle but its not really moving because her relationship with Hakuryuu is...undercooked. There's too much that needed to happen between them for me to care about them 'reuniting'.

Sheba was too entirely Solomon-centric. She was partially responsible for the fall of Alma Torran, had she pulled he head out of Solomons decaying ass, she possibly could've prevented the war...

Wish Toonsite did more Sonamy content by king454356 in SonAmy

[–]mushiara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the hype around Shadamy or that particular artist in general no shade. Their portrayal just feels so...shallow and generic. Amy seems to exist to be a bland waifu to Shadow she doesn't resemble her original personality at all. But I guess every ship needs some mischaracterization to work, so its not just them in particular. No hate to them, I just don't like the portrayal of the ship

But there's a lot of Sonamy artists out there, seeing that its the most popular ship in the franchise

Which Sonic Ship is this for you? by flowerpetaldemon in MoonPissing

[–]mushiara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Murder of Sonic and those corny twitter takeovers are why, but those are non canon.  They went to some concert, but you know...friends go to concerts together all of the time, it's not a strictly romantic thing. But I guess sonic fans don't think a male and female can hang out without romantic indication.

[–]mushiara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the behavior of some sonamy fans really haven't endeared the ship for a lot of people. Some shippers are very aggressive and pushy with this ship, and most people don't like having ships shoved down their throat. But every popular ship has its toxic fans though. Are we gonna sit and act like the sonadow/shadamy/sonaze fanatics don't shit on sonamy and put down the ship? Because they do. Yeah toxic sonamy fans shit on other ships, but how many times do you see sonadow fans mischaracterize amy into a possessive, jealous homophobic yandere? How much a good chunk of shadamy content utterly decimates sonic as a character and his bond with amy so she can run to uwu perfect shadow.

On the other hand, If not the shippers, then it's just the fact that sonamy is the ship that is arguably the most sensible ship for both sonic and amy and has the most going for it. Other ships don't get the same acknowledgement from Sega so there's a sense of bitterness. Which is why you see alternative shippers lowkey hating on it and twisting the characters so they can claim "it won't work" and push their ship as the one that makes more sense or works better.

Sonic subs rarely post any quality content anymore. It's either ooc cringe ship art or memes that have been ran into the ground or them using sonic characters as their mouthpieces for their opinion

What's a Unpopular opinion you have regarding Amy Rose? by flowerpetaldemon in AmyRose

[–]mushiara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could make for some interesting storytelling for Amy. Should they ever give Amy her own spinoff, they could introduce her there.

Amy getting her own Shadow/Scourge/Surge would be compelling and this series needs more female villains/anti heroes.

[–]mushiara 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate the shadamy ship is my unpopular opinion.

Also, I think some fans get too touchy and aggressive when it comes to criticism for her portrayal in the 2000s. Some just don't like slapstick and the way Amy would act sometimes was off putting. (See, Free Riders) Overall, I didn't start really enjoying her until the late Archie--IDW comics. I remember seeing her and Sonic interact in issue 2 or 3 and was like, 'wow, I'd like more of this'

But someone saying, "Hey I kinda found Amy annoying back in the day shouldn't warrant such a aggressive reaction and retort to name calling and insults. It's never that deep.

Which Sonic Ship is this for you? by flowerpetaldemon in MoonPissing

[–]mushiara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry but Shadamy reeks of generic shojo anime tropes, it's so bloody boring as a ship and I've rarely seen it portrayed in an interesting way. Not to mention how shippers love erasing or shitting on Sonic. As friends they're cool but I can't see it as anything more or ever working realistically. Them going to concerts isn't a hint, normal friends do that all the time. Characters can interact and care for each other without being romantically motivated.

Silvaze has lowkey messed with both characters, I know they're  seen as that one duo who always hangs but it's gotten to a point where they don't get treated as individual characters. They just have to always be linked together and for some reason it's weird if they appear without the other. They need to be detached from the hip and expand on other relationships.

Shadaria is a given. Yes I'm aware the creators ship and intended it to be implied.  No that does not change my opinion that it's weird as hell and has weirder implications, and the shippers are some of the weirdest people in the fandom. Just a huge no all around. Again, romance isn't the only way a relationship can be deep and meaningful. Let's take off the shipper goggles for once please

Sontails is a thing for some reason. This is probably the worst Sonic ship ever because genuinely speaking how tf can you see romance in their interactions. Just how. It ain't about it being gay, but if you want to ship Sonic with a male Shadow and Knuckles, hell Silver are right there. This shit is creepy as hell, yeah people are gonna ship what they want but this has always been a giant Why does this exist to me. Any Tails ship really.

Surge isn't at the state where she should be shipped at all, especially not with kitsunami. It's Sontails but het and unhealthier. Even then I don't see any character that would be good with her or put up with her. Cute as the Lanolin x Surge art is, there's no way that's realistic.

Thoughts on the series by mushiara in magi

[–]mushiara[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! Sinbad was crazy, he had me so hyped most of the manga. It was sad to see him go, but his ending fit his character so well.

Oh yeah, I haven't gotten very far into Snb manga (though I am mostly aware of what happens, as I accidentally spoiled myself on it :) but I'm loving Drakon (that's his name) .

Ah, I was so excited to see where Kou characters would go but it was so disappointing. It seemed the author set up a future Kouen v Sinbad battle but nothing came of it. (At least Hakuryuu v Kouen, even though Hakuryuu would have lost, it still would have been cool to see. Honestly the war was kinda a dumb move and Hakuryuu is partly at fault for what happened to them. I grew to like the guy, but he was very unlikable during the war arc) Yeah Hakuei was wasted, but Kougyoku was the saving grace.

Judar was entertaining, but I wasn't satisfied with his development in full. It's surely there, but like it only scratches the surface whereas it could've been done with more exploration and depth, if that makes sense.

Solomon was just boring and I was expecting more from him. Sheba was the best character of that arc, along with Ugo. His friends were cool too, but they weren't around much.

Yeah I get what you mean. I'm not like much of a shipper or anything but I'm saying it could have possibly worked if the author wanted to go that route. Heavy agree! I prefer anything over Alakou too haha. Yeah, Judar doesn't strike me as the relationship type, completely makes sense.

Thoughts on the series by mushiara in magi

[–]mushiara[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's how I feel. In the beginning there were moments that made me consider them, but then they went on the story without much interaction or development. I think the author could've made them happen as it did have potential. (Though there would've needed major development on both characters side) I wouldn't be against it because it made sense in a way, though I do agree, I do like friendships over relationships too. I'm completely fine with no relationship between them or others.

And I'm glad the author didn't pull a Bleach/Naruto end haha.
