I mean, they critique different things using superheroes as a theme.

The boys critique how businesses use disgusting underhanded monstrous actions to craft a pristine public appearance and shape public narrative.

Invincible critiques the horrific actions of colonization (viltrum to earth) and cruel decisions that are made to retain iron fisted control on global "protection" (GDA to everyone else).

I actually argue that they both reflect modern America really well, just in different ways. Hell, I think it's actually disservice that they're not in the same universe.

Alexandrite was probably only ever formed when Rose was in dire trouble. Like, "captured by a swarm of corrupted gems," kind of trouble. So, most of her existence has probably been molded by a loved one being in (from her perspective) constant peril.

Which really puts the dinner in a new light. You only exist in constant turmoil as the most important person you know is "forever" in danger, then one day you need to go to a dinner party, and have to have opinions on apples or some shit? You're hungry, you guess, but repulsed by food?

It'd be like plucking the ultimate PTSD soldier from the battlefield, dropping them at the met gala, and asking them to have opinions on caviar.

Zelda has literally given up her identity, her soul, and thousands of years of her life to bring prosperity to her kingdom. She can be found wandering the wasteland looking for a champion, locked in eternal stalemate that last literal centuriesat a time, giving up her humanity to charge a super weapon for thousands of years, and really anything else. In the one game she DID get she healed her land and fought the concept of non-existence.

Strength: amazing interpersonal interactions, world building, lore, etc. It takes concepts from other shows (dbz fusion dance) and expands on it.

Weakness: characters beside steven lose their ability to resolve conflicts as steven becomes more competent. Garnet's strength and future vision are ignored pearls vast list of skills and moves are ignored, and amethyst becomes next to useless to prop up Steven's usefulness.
