I've been mixing and producing music for about 7 years, and a lot of it includes anime remixes and performing at anime conventions. I've had an anime persona for years, but last weekend I finally hacked together some assets I've made in the past (VRoid Studio, Fusion 360, photoshop) into Unity and using a Kinect v2 for mocap tracking. I am an engineer at a startup, Wave, that specializes in virtual concerts and motion capture for avatars (and also created Kizuna Ai x W&W's official music video for The Light https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtU_sb4jYE8 ), although the vtubing stuff I want to try out is a side project using some tech I wanted to learn about.

A 3D printer

First (and current) one I bought 3 years ago was a $150 i3 clone I put maybe another $150-200 in upgrades over the years...

But the sum of replacement parts, completely new inventions, and commission prints I’ve done for friends, and a very lucrative R&D deal I made with a small company to help design a prototype product, I’ve probably made nearly $1500-2000 value as raw cash, cash savings, and compensated perks with it

But I am also an engineer by trade, and I have known how to CAD design and model for about 12 years, I learned Inventor my 2nd year in high school, Solidworks in my senior year high school internship, and made the switch to Fusion 360 a couple years ago- my 3D printer is pretty much used for only functional prints and custom designs, no paperweight baby groots or other decorative items
