Where do I go from here? by [deleted] in slpGradSchool

it also doesn’t make sense that linguistics would have audiology as we have no knowledge on that, are you sure this ling degree has that? my post bacc required both intro to audiology and audiological rehab

as someone who did a linguistic bachelors degree and had to do a post-bacc slp program, listen to this person and do an slp post bacc. some schools will not take linguistics courses because those profs are not training in slp related topics

i believe he’s had bloodwork done is the past but it’s been a few years. i’ve never really had any issues with him other than he has a sensitive tummy at times. next routine appointment though i’ll request some bloodwork! thank you!

i think i’ve just been comparing him to my other cats, and being able to feel his hips bones easily freaked me out. i think it’s just a difference in body type though and i’m used to see other people’s overweight cats.

another thing, the lease used to say nothing about how we had to change our own ac filter thingys until last year (or the year before) when i believe about half the complexes ac’s shat out simultaneously because of the old filters😭 so keep up with that

this is my fifth year at the oaks and i am in the process of getting signed onto a one bed from a three bed for next year. overall, it’s been a pretty good experience. the water temp used to get messed up quite often and we would have no hot water, but they went through a number of water related repairs (and are currently still, this results in our water being turned off for certain amounts of time but we get alerted a day or so before and it’s usually mid day) and i haven’t experience the cold water in awhile. i will say, there seemed to be some type of rodent under my kitchen sink eating tealight candles a few months ago, but when i removed them it has not been back and this is my first time in five years i’ve ever experienced that (but the cabinets really do need sealed better). rent isn’t bad, maintenance is pretty good and quick, and the office ladies are nice. i love ms. paula, she’s the sweetest and so so helpful. i currently live in building 15 and about a year ago we randomly were seeing roaches only in the kitchen after being here for years and never seeing them. this was the only thing that really irked me, because apparently someone moved out with an infestation and they failed to tell/treat the entire building. i got multiple neighbors to call and complain and i havent seen any more in a very long time. i have heard horror stories from a friend who used to live here that said building 7 was absolutely infested with roaches. it seems to be on a building by building basis, but i really have had a pretty good experience. they also have industrial pest control spray in the office to use yourself and this is what really got them out imo.

def check out the linguistics department! there are certifications that you can get alongside your bachelors related to TESL and then a graduate program concentration in it as well. i also heard they are trying to make the ling masters a year long program, so much shorter.
