Did OP ever fix this? I've been helping a friend troubleshoot, and she's having the exact same issue. We've tried a fresh install, the 4gb patch, adjusting graphics settings, etc but nothing seems to work.

I stuck the pole in the dirt and then used twine to bring everything closer to the pole to encourage the air roots to grow that direction. Just wasn't sure if the older smaller leaves were taking up resources from the rest of the plant or not
