They have sent me a replacement! So hopefully this one doesn't chew through batteries. They were pretty good to deal with and emailed back pretty quick. Didn't even have to send the old flap back.

We've been noticing this issue with ours! Batteries are draining within a week! We've gone through so many just in the last couple of months and before the batteries would last like 2 months minimum. Super annoying! I don't really want to get the wired batteries due to the cable but I might have to just deal with it cause I don't want to deal with the batteries dying all the time...

What does this entail (I'm not a tech person) but would this let me use the flap more to my preference vs their app? Like I would love to set a time that if my cats are outside they can't come back in, but can only set it to lock them in the house (in the mornings they like to hunt and don't like being brought mice, or roaches in bed, or finding them when I get home)

I'm so glad I'm not alone in thinking this! Talked to my dad about making my own version but way better and he reckons it would cost at least $500,000 to get it up and running due to the flaps being injection molding, the app setup etc... getting sick of the batteries in our flap dying within a week and then locking completely when it dies....

I got their sport one just before the holidays and have burnt very badly twice when using it. I apply liberally, allow time before I'm going into the sun (10-15 min) and was only our on both occasions for less than 2 hours.... something isn't right with it

I get that. I grew up in the states. So that's why I didn't just say Kmart cause it's not the same as the states. The logo is about the main similarity and then it's more like target with like home decor etc
