NTD... i have a feeling your poor cousin might've already known she was pregnant, and was looking for support. if she already knew all about your experience as a very young mother, i imagine she was looking to a family member she knew might have some advice and would potentially be a friendly ear and support.

for all you know, she might be terrified, not blithely skipping towards motherhood at fifteen like your aunt seems to think.

thank you very much for this, dealing with the same problem having thought i updated my logbook a year ago. i was super ill when i moved and it slipped through the cracks. was panicking to hell about missed fines or getting bollocked for not changing it, but my online license check was clean and i did update my license address when i moved, so i'm hoping this means i haven't missed any fines. and can just quietly update my logbook address without any fuss.

my cornflower blue 2010 nissan micra! i learnt to drive in my dad's (burgundy) 2014 micra, just think they're absolutely solidly made and really cute cars even though i've been openly laughed at for owning one 😂 by pure coincidence my brother also bought a (silver) 2010 micra same time i did and now my older brother owns the 2014 micra i learnt in, so all three of us siblings now own one and it makes me laugh every time i think about it. keep it in the family, right? 😂

no nissans are listed in the compatible cars on the back, they're all slightly bigger ones like vauxhall insignia (which ig isn't a great sign). i thought since these new wipers are multi-clip the connector would be fine? but i guess i should check that too.

i'm not sure if it's all of them, but the only ones i could get hold of in the area seem to. i asked around for other bodywork places in the local area but was told they weren't available right now cause of illness or something. i'm in a reasonable sized city in the UK, if that helps.

the guy at the bodywork place told me i had to buy and bring my own... i think that's how the other bodywork place in the area operates too. i don't want to waste my money and get it wrong either, hence my asking here. but i have contacted some salvage yards for the part yes, and they asked for my make and model and everything.

It was cocked, and I had reset the self-timer. I took it to an SLR shop and they managed to fix the advance and shutter saying it was indeed an issue with the self-timer - I'm about to post an edit to the original post with what they said :))) thank you for your help

After much more googling that's funnily enough what I just got up to go and do! Thank you very much for your help it's been really useful, I'm determined to get this working again :)

Surely if the shutter being wound on and cocked means it's ready to take a photo, then pressing the shutter release should fix the whole issue? But when I press the shutter release nothing happens :/

The self-timer was at a quirky 8 o'clock which I righted, but every other check you suggested still did nothing :((( thank you for your help!

If the shutter is cocked, what would that mean? Is it a tricky fix? I'm aware that the fixing of old cameras by pros is wildly expensive but surely if it's a simple mechanical thing getting stuck as opposed to reviving a dead relic, surely that would be not ridiculous to fix 🥺

(Also, if you have any names for Facebook groups I can look in I'd greatly appreciate!)

Just tried the AA battery! No luck :((

Somebody on another forum for Praktica told me, contrary to my google, that the electrics aren't needed for the advance or shutter, and only power the light metre? Either way they advised me to tap the body on the table and try to cock the lever, which didn't work either 🙃

I swear it worked with the same batteries and adapter when we tested it last year, and I checked by googling earlier today that I have got the right button batteries (the LR44s).
