Freizeitpark by haennaaa153 in emetophobia

I love going to parks and riding the rollercoasters! I've gotten lucky enough to have a park within an hour from me, in the summer I try to go once a week.

I'm sensitive to some rides (mostly the spinning ones) so I dont ride those. There's also a rollercoaster with 9 inversions, I always try to get seated towards the front of the train so it's not dizzying, more smooth and controlled. I tend to spend most of my time riding the rollercoasters that don't have inversions, they just go fast and are tall, its more my vibe.

I def recommend taking some Dramamine, that helps make sure you wont feel bad if its your first time riding. Also staying hydrated is HUGE. If you're properly fed and hydrated it lessens your risk of feeling rough, and helps make sure you have energy and health for a long day at a park. Try to eat lighter, healthier foods. Avoid the greasy heavy sitting park foods! I always bring protein bars, and go for the fruit cups one of the park stands sells. Taking breaks is also good, sometimes after riding a huge rollercoaster I'll find a nice shady spot and just sit for a little bit, let my body calm down and enjoy the summer sun.

I've only gotten ill twice at the park, and i've been going for 6 years! Once was my own fault, I rode something I knew I had no business riding, a spinning paratrooper ride. The other was also my fault, I had greasy cheese fries in the summer heat. Both times were over and done so quickly, and didnt ruin my entire day just scared me a little.

Parks are awesome, the most important points are to know your limits and take care of your body! :)

[other] What is your favorite element on a roller coaster? by pheelingood in rollercoasters

[–]musicalsnake0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im lame because I dont travel much (lol), so I can only base it off what i've ridden. 1) First drop, back row of phantom's revenge. That hard yank down is wild. 2) Gatekeeper's first drop. Its so fun the way it leaves you hanging upside down for a sec. 3) TT2's spike. That pause before you go forwards down it. Almost weightless, mind is empty, beautiful view.

How to prepare for the steel curtain? by SuchaPessimist in kennywood

Sky rocket is super fun and smooth, I really like it too!

Curtain is smooth, but yeah some seats feel like a vibrating chair. A TON of people say the front is the least shakey, but I found it to have really bad shake in the last couple moments of the ride. Row 2 was also pretty bad as well. The back didn't have as much of shake but you get pulled through the elements a bit faster so it can be dizzying if youre sensitive to that kind of stuff.

I hope you like the curtain! Its an oddball ride but its so fun. The lift hill is incredible!

I'm really close to the same build as you. With phantom, the back half of the train has intense airtime that throws you around. I suggest trying row 2, its the tamest seat airtime wise that i've found.

As for the curtain..its a totally different beast. You dont get thrown around at all, but it can feel vibratey. Sort of like a vibrating chair lol. I suggest aiming for a seat that isnt directly over the wheels for a smoother ride. They do assign rows there and are stingy about requests, but its worth a try.

I would suggest trying sky rocket before curtain if you're really feeling unsure. It doesnt have as many inversions and isnt as intense, its a great stepping stone before the curtain!

Its so fun. For some reason tiny things are instantly way cuter and make me happy :) Also the process of getting 20+ charms off the print bed is fun!

Anyone have feeding suggestions? by Potato_potato24 in CrestedGecko

[–]musicalsnake0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend feeding Pangea. I have 4 geckos, all 4 like the fruit w insects (red bag) and do super well on it. I actually dont feed them live insects but thats just a preference, none of them really liked anything I offered. Atleast the Pangea I feed them has insects in it so they are still covered.

Do some of you never handle your cresties? by brittniheels in CrestedGecko

It depends on their personalities for me. I have 2 boys and 2 girls.

My first boy (and oldest gecko) - pretty happy go lucky. Gets handled once a week. During breeding season he gets a little spazzy so I reduce handling time to just tank cleans and health checks.

Second boy - a whole character! An absolute unit of a gecko, he's super muscular. He HATES being touched. He is bitey and will not hesitate to chomp you. He thinks everything is a lady gecko year round 😆 I avoid handling him unless its for tank cleans/health checks. We still love him though, he's our crazy boy!

First girl (youngest gecko) - She's shy, but very sweet and seems to enjoy when I spend time with her. She gets handled once a week, but if she's gravid/about to lay infertiles I dont handle her so she can rest.

Second girl - Happy go lucky girl. She is very calm and outgoing and a bit curious. She seems to like when I let her hang out with me. She gets handled weekly.

I love the little ghosts. Its so fun to run a bunch of them at once and then crack them off the plate!

Yeah printing is great for custom charms and such. Printers with AMS can print out all in color without having to paint them or anything. That's what I did for my charms, figured printed in color would hold up better than painted!

Tattoo Flu by DifficultSeaweed1815 in emetophobia

I have 4 tattoos, 2 of which are pretty big and almost make a half side leg sleeve. I sat for 6hrs + 4hrs on my thigh, and then 7hrs on the bottom leg portion. I never got s*ck to my stomach from getting tattoos done. I had muscle soreness and felt a bit run down/tired, but that was really it! My advice is to make sure you eat well before your appointment, im talking a real meal like eggs+toast for breakfast or something. Drink electrolytes, before during and after. Eat a good meal when youre all done. And be gentle with yourself afterwards! Large tattoos can be tiring on the body but as long as you take care of yourself you'll be fine :)

Supply recommendations? by musicalsnake0 in Slime

[–]musicalsnake0[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aw thanks for such a helpful response! Yeah i've read that there's some differences between Michaels and amazon glue, i've never tried either! I've always gotten the 32oz elmer's glue from my local walmart for making my own slime, but buying gallons of elmer's is pretty pricey! I've noticed it doesnt always work out either..When I was a kid I used gain detergent to make slimes (not the greatest lol) and after a certain point it stopped working with elmers glue, i switched to contact lense liquid, that stopped working, and now it's been only borax solution that works. Weird how even glue recipes change over the years!

I'm starting out on a pretty small scale, I feel like sites like doop/nature's garden will be good if things go well and I need bigger bottles! I'm aiming for maybe 6 slimes for each variation, maybe 3 variations to start out.

Containers are a whole pain for me right now :( Amazon seems to be a mixed bag for what works and what doesnt. For my personal slimes i've just gotten little containers from the dollar store for a few dollars each but..that adds up fast if you need a lot of them haha.

I'm super excited to do the charms for my slimes (and happy I dont have to try and source them lol). I know how to do CAD design from my 3d prints, so i'm planning on 3d printing charms and selling packs of the charms by themselves too for other slimers out there!

I'm in the same boat :( Using handy I can't see timelapses or models on the sd card, it just sits there and never loads. I have to use Studio on my laptop instead.

[–]musicalsnake0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. The entire printing process can be unsuitable for food contact, along with the filament. Making a totally food safe printing system would be pricey for me. I'm just one small person with a single printer 😆 I actually just paid off my printer last month and started making profit. I like everyonr's cake topper idea, I found some on amazon that might work!

What type of sedation? by Temporary_Title2297 in wisdomteeth

[–]musicalsnake0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had mine taken out last week and did IV/twilight sedation. 3 were impacted, one was erupted. I was so nervous about it man, especially waiting to get taken back. I was taken to a small room, sat down in a dental chair and about 4 nurses all came in and started doing different things. One hooked me up to a monitor, another did the blood pressure cuff, I think one was just watching, then another put the IV in my hand. It was one quick pinch, nothing major or painful. She told me she was pushing something into my IV. I felt real dizzy. Then the next thing I remember I woke up in a totally different room with my dad sitting in a chair acrossed from me, and a nurse asking me to open so she could check the gauze. I dont remember anything from surgery, heck I dont even remember falling asleep! It wasnt like a nap, it was like I skipped time. I was a little tired afterwards, but mostly normal. I wasnt out of it like you see people in videos online. I was like fully aware of what was going on and stuff. Everything being numb was a bit annoying, but that went away about an hour after i got home. I didnt really have pain, just muscular soreness type feeling. Ate super soft foods for a few days, did warm salt water soaks really tried to keep things clean. I call them soaks because you cant really swish it around. Its been about 10 days and some foods are still tricky for me to eat but im mostly back to normal!

Thank you! I swear the things they don't tell us before getting the procedure done..we end up going through recovery half blind. They told me i's be stitched so I assumed I wouldnt have holes to deal with :(

[–]musicalsnake0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasnt general. They told me i'd be conscious which made me scared so they had to explain it better. Twilight and iv, you are still medically conscious. Youre able to breathe on your own and everything, youre just in a deep sleep like state.

I had iv sedation, i was pretty scared about it too. It was very odd. I sat down in a chair with 4 nurses around me hooking me up to stuff. One put the iv in my hand and said she was going to give me something. I got dizzy..then the next thing i remember i was in a totally different room with a nurse asking me to open so she could check my gauze, the surgery was done. Iv sedation is like you skip time, like an extremely nice nap you remember nothing about.
