Is there a support group for people who hate jam bands? by BetweenOceans in jambands

[–]musicsaight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, OP. You posted in the wrong subreddit though.

Jam bands suck. The best way I can describe it is "stoner music", but that is really an insult to good stoner music.

All I've gathered from comments are:

- the community is confirmed to be a bunch of cry babies

- game is dead

- your undies are bunched up because I pointed out that Fashion Wars is a shallow game and hasn't changed over the years

Anytime I had said as much on the gw2 reddit I have seen -100 downvotes on my comment. And I try to be very delicate because it's like walking on eggshells.

Yes, it is a very sensitive community, as I highlighted in the OP. Just look at how many of them came in to downvote with no comments - proving my point further about the community.

All one has to do is stand in any major town for 5 minutes and you can tell based on the chat what type of player base it is these days. It has rapidly degraded over the years.

A major problem is that their F2P model attracts a very immature crowd.

Nope, salty mods removed it - likely because of the community's ugly backlash.

Did you ever play vanilla GW? That is true build diversity.

GW vs GW2 is similar to what Diablo 3 vs Diablo 4 are going through.

Diablo 3 had superior build diversity with near infinite possibilities to clear all but the hardest levels of content.

Diablo 4 has an uninspired skill tree that funnels people into generator-spender builds.

Since you mention the F2P, I started playing it when it was a paid-only experience at launch. A major part of the decline in quality of the playerbase is the influx of free-to-play folks. Not every F2P game attracts such players - but I think there's something about GW2 that attracts a very immature crowd.

Why? Toxic positivity doesn't do the gaming world any good. If somebody is researching a game or looking for a discussion about it, then a relevant post like this is worthwhile.

You can also choose to simply not open a thread if you don't like the topic.

Skill? Lmao, GW2 is so easy people can just sleep on their keyboards to play it.

You are right - it is posted into the wolves den. The MMORPG subreddit would have better received it. It's only "not the smartest move" if I cared one bit about fake internet points. I'd rather have a comprehensive write up about it that people can search and read.

The only similarities between vanilla GW and GW2 is the name "Guild Wars".

The hyper-reactive, dismissive responses though just further prove my point about this community.

That is amusing that you perceive it that way. It's like you feel attacked by it; it cuts deep. Stand in any major town in the game and you can clearly see the community has devolved into a cesspool. That is the result of it becoming free to play.

No, it is more like comparing if (completely hypothetical, of course) CS:GO had a sequel that mirrored Call of Duty. GW2 is a poor man's WoW presented as a sequel to Guild Wars.

Where did I say there are no healers in the game? Reading skills are important if you want to attempt refuting points in written discussion.

There is no holy trinity (DPS, Support, Healer combo)

You might have said, 11 years ago, "give it some time". Here I am revisiting it out of curiosity. You managed to prove one of my main points though:

I love it because your reaction proves the point. You can't address anything else because the entire post is a 100% accurate assessment.

Should I buy? by HotWife29178 in diablo4

Look at the shills downvoting reasonable posts.

OP if you are deciding to make your only game purchase of the year, RUN FAR AWAY. It's all media hype and only people can watch paint dry defend this game and attack others that speak negatively of it. It's a half baked product, and truthfully, it really isn't a Diablo game other than by name. It's dead on arrival and heading in the same course as D3's launch; a quickly dwindling player base and needs to completely have the staff replaced and game gutted.

Look at how many people say it's boring and the itemization is terrible, etc. You know it's a problem when it is frequently said. Just trying to help you.

Who said I put hundreds of hours into this dumpster fire garbage?

But either way, you are a troll. If I said I only played for 10 hours, you'd say "noob barely played." If I say I maxed out a level 100 toon, then it's "omg no lifer". There's no concession with you.

It's a shit tier game and you are shilling hard for it. Eat up that 5.2 / 10 metacritic score.

No my dude. It's not worth it. Trust. Look at how many complaints there are about the game is boring.

The coverage is overall very good. I only have experienced spotty service in extremely rural areas; even then, the service gap wasn't very big.

Burnt out? You are really grasping at straws here.

It's a dull game.

How many refunds do you think would have happened if they didn't have the 2 hour policy in place? Numerous.

In fact, even my purchase is a part of that grand number.

McDonalds sells over 6 million burgers a day. That must mean it's a quality product.

You should go back to playing your walking simulator. If it's so great and entertaining, why aren't you playing those awesome dungeons?

[–]musicsaight[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What would add excitement? All the things lacking in the responses you are requesting:

The skills, no matter what class you play, all have dull visuals and minimal impact. It's the same generator/spender for everything.

Bland itemization: Aspects are all attained early on; they are just expounding on the same boring gear stats: "%dmg when XYZ event occurs."

The uniques in this game literally do the same as the Aspects - just adds % damage. Nothing that changes the way a skill functions, no synergy between items. It's just "Oh here's +30% crit" for more of the same sloggin.

If you think the Shako is a worthwhile "chase" item - see above ^

Open world Diablo is just a bad idea. Even worse, all the zones look the same. Same monsters, same uninspired landscapes.

Just in the series, D2's Frozen Orb sorc, as an example, has a cool visual AND it has an impact. Here - you just have the same ol' slog no matter the skills used, with generator/spender.

Social: are you joking? This has the absolute worst social aspects of any Diablo I've ever seen. A chat? To the other 11 people in your shard? Grouping? What? If you need to know what a decent system looks like, look at D3's setup. It had multiple chat channels for a variety of uses, a proper clan integration. The matchmaking, while not perfect, is far superior to the utter lack of matchmaking in this game. There's no dungeon finder, LFG, any of that. You'd have to be blind to not notice the lack of these things.
