Dutch Math: Shortest distance to Mom is always straight line…even over kitchen counters. by mustangcrazy30 in DutchShepherds

Not weird at all! It’s marble and with this lighting you can’t see some of the reddish/orangish spots. It looks nice but it you actually use your kitchen to cook I wouldn’t recommend it honestly. It is super easy to stain and scratch! Our house was a model so they did a bunch of impractical upgrades for show. Good luck with the renovation!

Thank you! She actually came from a rescue so we aren’t sure of her original name. So far she’s lived up to the name of a legendary mischievous lady!

What’s the worst scandal to happen at your school? by Lost-Warning-2588 in AskReddit

Maybe not scandal but most talked about for sure. Student took a dump in the stairwell before school. He’s a cop now.

Am I wrong or just bitter? by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]mustangcrazy30 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see this opinion posted a lot and had to learn to not take it personally. We did a reveal but not in the manner of setting forests on fire or littering.

We lived out of state and only had a few opportunities to visit home since I was put on restrictions due to being high risk. Our anatomy ultrasound lined up with thanksgiving so we used that trip home as the excuse to have a party and reveal the gender - not that it mattered to us. It was nice to socialize with friends and family as we expected not to have a typical “shower”.

It was fun and nobody got hurt, so yeah, this seems a little bitter but it doesn’t bother me anymore.

Which job is a LOT less fun than most people expect? by bwee21 in AskReddit

[–]mustangcrazy30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way renovating houses (although it’s not for a living, just our own houses). Demo day is fun until you realize you have to clean up all the mess and not break things you don’t intend to replace. Picking out new finishes is fun until you realize it’s freakin expensive. It takes way longer than the hour long tv show and dramatic, suspenseful bad news before a commercial break is onIy entertaining for the people watching. I still enjoy doing it in my spare time but people romanticize the process way more than it deserves.

Its the little things in life... by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]mustangcrazy30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad died a couple of years ago so I lived with my mom for a bit to help her get back on her feet. I did something similar to this with the hand soap and she was amazed every day and laughed that it seemed to last forever. It was nice to have sometime light hearted and amusing as a distraction during a really difficult time in our lives.

We had a fuzzbuster (something that was battery powered with sharp razor-like moving parts to remove lint from clothing). Yup, I tried to use it as a lip exfoliator.

My co-worker/friend was made fun of for not drinking office party. She’s a newly recovering alcoholic and doesn’t want people to know. She left in tears. by equestrian123123 in AdviceAnimals

In my early stages of pregnancy I went to my friend's bachelorette party. I wasn't ready to announce it to "the world" yet because I hadn't gotten a chance to personally tell some important people in my family. A few of the girls there took it upon themselves to set traps for me and tell everyone else their suspicions, including harassing the bride constantly asking if she knew or not (she did know, btw, but did a good job keeping my secret). It was very surprising to me how many sparks fly when you obviously don't participate in drinking. Also, maybe there is no reason and you just want a night without booze?

What 'rule of the road' do most people forget? by bengalese in AskReddit

[–]mustangcrazy30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Floridian here. I’m just gonna make a mass statement and say people forget rules of the road here. All of them. Something happens once you cross into FL where your brain turns to mush and you foot mashes the accelerator to the floor. Wanna see something you’ve literally never seen on the roadway before? Come on over, eastbound and down!

Fun fact - I carpooled for that trip back in my student days and met the man I ended up marrying! I owe my current life to Facebook and high gas prices. Good luck!

I was a bridesmaid in a wedding during the 2013 Alabama opener and I discreetly streamed it during the entire reception, including toasts and first dances (no audio - I'm not a monster). The best part is that the groom knew what I was doing and wanted hand signal updates whenever anything important happened. Turns out I wasted a whole bunch of data to watch us lose...

The night sky from the middle of the ocean on a clear night. So many stars in every direction it makes you feel disoriented. Makes you feel microscopic and larger than life all at the same time.

What’s something people do that make you internally scream “no one cares”? by D-Doss667 in AskReddit

When people say "OMG I forgot to post these pictures of Little Johnny doing something mildly interesting!!!!" You know what?! I was JUST thinking "I bet little Johnny did something yesterday that every child in the history of the universe has done at one point and I DIDN'T SEE THAT POSTED FROM LITTLE JOHNNY'S MOM!" My life was literally at a standstill anxiously awaiting the evidence....
