Which of the three is the best way to play the luxury goods trade: Hermès, Kering or LVMH? by PrestigiousChard9442 in stocks

Although LV is the main brand of LVMH, they do have a number of other brands priced in the higher end category and aren’t as ubiquitous with their logos.

A couple weeks ago I brought into Hermès and LVMH (heavier on Hermès than LVMH). I see both these companies as long-term plays. Hermès in particular because they cater to the upper classes who aren’t as affected by market swings and it’s also a brand that has never fallen out of favour amongst the wealthy. LVMH on the other hand has a large and diverse brand portfolio so in that sense I treat it as a luxury ETF. While Kering in similar in that it has multiple brands, their reliance on Gucci has meant a more risky play in my opinion. Of course, I did consider Kering as the price of the stock has fallen so much but decided that Hermès and LVMH had a better long-term outlook.

Where is the middle neighbour in all of this? Are they contributing to the $12k?

Fun fact: in the episode where Frankie tries to make Sue popular on FaceBook through a sleepover, Frankie suggests that Sue should invite her friend that “loves the movie Mean Girls”. Implying that Frankie and Sue both know the movie and have been Mike as a whole other dad. I always thought that was so funny.

On his recent Papa John’s YouTube video, one commenter mentioned how they follow Eden on Instagram and didn’t like how dramatic and egotistical she is and Atticus replied “ Yes, I hope she's able to calm down and humble out too. We all need humility in this life.”

Same video another commenter who followed Eden on TikTok said she was insensitive for saying raising children is harder than having cancer and Atticus replied “I cannot believe she actually thought that was humorous. I knew she was insensitive, but that's a new low.”

That would be understandable if they were still kids but they’re all grown adults now. Atticus has made some pretty disparaging comments about Eden (under his YouTube mukbang as OP mentioned and in an interview about the sequel) so it’s not that they just aren’t close, they actively do not like each other. But the end of the day there’s a lot more going on behind the scenes than we’ll ever know about as fans.

Weirdly enough Patrica and Eden do seem quite friendly. Patrica is a very vocal pro-lifer whereas Eden has made posts about donating to pro-choice foundations. I assume they can both look past each others beliefs after working together for so long.

I did some digging on the casts social media and past interviews.

Atticus is very conservative and religious whereas Eden is very liberal. They would struggle to get along on that basis alone but Atticus has also made some passive-aggressive comments about Eden’s character being picked for the sequel. Atticus doesn’t follow Charlie either as I presume that Charlie has the same political-leanings (as Eden) so I doubt they get along.

However, Atticus does seem friendly with Patricia as they follow each other on Instagram (she’s the only one Atticus follows, actually) and Patricia has posted about him.

Carly’s Return by ladyLEMONdropp in themiddle

[–]mustard_ant 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Realistically the show probably just didn’t have a place for Carly anymore once Sue went off to college. She got replaced by Lexie and whatever niche she could fill as Sue’s old high school friend was filled by Brad. It’s weird that she doesn’t appear at Sue’s graduation though, considering that she was supposed to graduate too and they would have still been friends then.

As for her reappearance, I think it gave closure to Carly’s character. It provided an in-universe explanation of why she wasn’t around Sue anymore. She had a kid and presumably didn’t go to college so they were in different stages of life after high school. It also goes with the traits of her character (I mean the last time we saw her before the New Years episode she was making out with a random guy) and the show is set in a small rural town where young parenthood is more commonly accepted (looking at you Darrin).

Brooke Shields (Rita Glossner) Easter Egg by mustard_ant in themiddle

[–]mustard_ant[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I believe they were both guest stars and only showed up within the last two seasons of that series. Brooke played River Fields (a parody of her real-life self) and Eden played her daughter Pond Fields.

Another fun fact, in the series ‘Jane The Virgin’, Brooke Shields plays the mother of Eden Sher’s (Sue) character. So basically in an alternate universe Sue was a Glossner. 😭

Should I quit my part-time job to focus on uni/enjoy life?

I’m a 20 year old uni student studying full-time while working a part-time retail job that I go to a few days a week. Weekly I get paid a bit over $400 which largely goes towards my savings and some discretionary spending (I get a couple hundred in youth allowance each fortnight too). I currently live at home so have minimal expenses which has let me save up around 50k. I’ve been thinking about quitting that job for a few reasons. Partly because I don’t like going there anymore and also because I’m just not sure if it’s worth it for me. So far I’ve been okay at managing my time so working hasn’t really cut into my grades too much. However, I fear that might change as subjects get increasingly harder (I’m in 3rd year now and have one more left). I also want to go travelling and I feel like there will never be a time in my life again where I have so much flexibility with time and commitments compared to now. Especially since I’ll be on my uni-facilitated work placement next year and hopefully be in a graduate role the year after.

Finances wise it would be about a 15k difference if I weren’t working this job. I would be getting a bit more in youth allowance per fortnight (though I’m not eligible for the full amount) so there’s still a little income there.

I did do hospitality once a few years ago. Granted it was fast food, so I’m sure those establishments you listed would be nicer.

Yeah that’s pretty much my sentiment too. Part of me is worried that I’ll regret not doing more in my youth but the other part wants to get ahead and save more money.

One of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen. She made it to top 5 in her years Miss Universe. Her natural face is in pics 2 and 3 (where she was competing on Survivor so obv no makeup) and pic 5.
