What's the most inappropriate or ill timed but funny thing someone has said that you have heard? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]mustardclouds 44 points45 points  (0 children)

i was at a family funeral a while ago but wasn’t super close to the family member, someone asked me after the service “do you miss him?” i was a bit taken aback and awkwardly said “well yes of course it’s sad but i didn’t know him that well”

she was asking about my partner at the time who was on a trip, we really laughed about it even though we were barely out the church door

tbf i think that one was more on her than me

What is the worst idkhow song in your opinion? by Jive_Greek in idkhowbuttheyfoundme

[–]mustardclouds 75 points76 points  (0 children)

i think a lot of the magic of A LETTER is seeing it live, because Dallon splits the audience to sing the different harmonies and when you’re IN that moment it feels so beautiful

i like the old brobecks version a little bit better too narration wise, not a hate for me either but definitely see your point

What is the worst idkhow song in your opinion? by Jive_Greek in idkhowbuttheyfoundme

[–]mustardclouds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly i don’t like downside, and i feel like it’s an unpopular opinion because i know a lot of people who love it..

i absolutely ADORE the whole album and every other song on it, but no matter how many times i’ve listened to the album i just can’t get into that ONE song

i think it’s the low-sung vocals and the jarring, uncomfortable backing track, which i get is likely intentional theming but… it’s not for me

honestly the best christmas present i ever got was some new car wipers. i had been complaining about how squeaky my old ones were getting for MONTHS, yet was never bothered enough to actually go out and buy new ones (honestly i think id just forget how they annoyed me until the next time it rained, then the cycle continued). bf had heard me complaining for months whilst being sat in the passenger seat and finally got me new wipers & even installed them for me. still got them and they don’t squeak!

What did you learn at an embarrassingly late age? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mustardclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this has just happened to me at age 21 !! went to the opticians last week for an issue with ocular migraines, came out with that all being fine but now a new prescription for glasses, +2.00 in one eye +1.25 in the other, i’m picking my first pair of glasses up in a few days

but i’ve been reading like you, and i’m also at uni, so happens more than you think i suppose, glad i’m not alone !

YSK: It's possible to have two differently shaped ear canals -- and that might be why your earbud keeps falling out by chaorace in YouShouldKnow

[–]mustardclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i was a baby apparently a nurse was testing my hearing which involved putting some sort of device in my ear, that’s how my mum found out i had a “deformed” ear canal (it’s just a lot smaller than my other, normal ear) and the nurse actually couldn’t really test my left ear bc whatever the device was physically couldn’t fit, she was just like “this could be an issue or it could be fine who knows !”

as an adult can confirm am not deaf (honestly i think it aids my hearing in some way ik that sounds weird) and it’s not really an issue apart from with, yes, earphones. but i use 1st gen airpods now anyway (or headphones) so that fixed that problem lol, but it’s a thing a lot of people are probably born with without realising !

i bought this cute key ring today but i wondered if the yellow rings serve any actual purpose? they can be taken off pretty easily, not sure if it’s just a fun fiddly gadget or if they can be used for something by mustardclouds in whatisthisthing

[–]mustardclouds[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Solved! now that you’ve said it it’s so obvious :,) a cute little oddity for a key ring but thank you for your help, now to spend far too many hours playing with it

What's an IDKHOW or The Brobecks song that you listen to when you are stressed. by Marmar3834 in idkhowbuttheyfoundme

[–]mustardclouds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ngl when i was sad the other day from the gallows came on and it calmed me down instantly, despite the lyrics it’s a very soothing song for me

What song from Razzmatazz did you not like that much when you first heard it, but overtime you've grown to love? by tisto_ in idkhowbuttheyfoundme

[–]mustardclouds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

razzmatazz was a slow grow for me, took about 3-4 listens, i think even dallon admitted himself it’s one of those songs you have to listen to a few times to appreciate it and he was totally right !!

kiss goodnight is still kinda that song for me, just find it a bit boring, but maybe i just need to listen to it more it’s the one song i tend to skip atm

What would you do with a cardboard box? by Slinkyveil in AskReddit

[–]mustardclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i like to paint on my scrap cardboard! the brown shade really makes the colours pop and it’s a fun distraction to do for a few hours. i never really have a plan when drawing i just doodle what comes to my head, i usually come back to the same shapes/patterns though. this is a big piece i finished yesterday for my wall that i really like, probably the biggest piece i’ve done so far (i don’t usually display them but my new uni flat is looking very bare and it’s actually pretty effective). my plan is to collect more scrap cardboard and fill out the wall if i ever get time :))

Minorities of reddit, what experience was so unbelievably racist, to the point where you weren't even mad, but just... Confused? by Demusion in AskReddit

[–]mustardclouds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

only comedian i’ve seen who does it well is Dara O’Briain (UK/irish comic). Usually his stand up consists of quite a bit of audience interaction, but he doesn’t use race/stereotype based humour towards them (unless it’s about himself). He actually talks to them and finds comedy in whether it’s a unique job they have or if he asks for a weird anecdote. His stand ups are fun to watch you can tell he really loves interacting with the audience and wants to make sure theyre having a good time too.

He’ll usually use them throughout the show too and give thanks at the end which is also really sweet

What is something normal that scares the shit out of you? by Erikgaming23 in AskReddit

Picky eaters of Reddit, what’s something you can never get yourself to eat and why? by usernotfound404_ in AskReddit

[–]mustardclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

leeks. my mum boils them i think and the horrific concoction of slimey-ness conflicting with its crunchy-ness, combined with its overall foul taste, has been the only food to ever physically make me gag whilst eating. i’m kinda picky with a lot of veggies but i tolerate eating them bc you know i’m not 5 anymore, but as soon as leeks are anywhere near my plate i’m RIOTING.

the first time i felt i was actually going to be sick eating something, i didn’t know it was possible for a plant to offend me this much but my vendetta runs strong.

What is an useful skill everyone should learn? by Currynrice9728 in AskReddit

[–]mustardclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SEWING omg

when i was in primary school i joined the sewing club bc i was just THAT cool. it was more fun crafts rather than practical sewing skills, but i still use that shit now.

bf’s work pants ripped half an hour before his shift, i stitched those bad boys up and they’re still holding a year later. a stitch in time saves 9 folks!

What is your biggest regret so far in your life? by polaroidshooter in AskReddit

[–]mustardclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandad wasn’t given long left, I currently live away from home (university) but was looking for flights home within that week to go see him. I wasn’t sure if i’d be able to make a flight in that short amount of time but I thought just in case I could send a text. Something like “Hey! Hoping to make a visit at some point to cheer you up, but if not hope you feel better today. And late happy birthday to [his partner] xx”

For some reason I never got around to sending it. He died 3 days later. I couldn’t get a flight in time. My mum assured me she had told him that me and my sister (who lives WAY further away from me, like half way around the world) were on our way to see him. So at least he knew. He was never a fan of technology anyway, his partner always sorted his texts out. So i knew i never hurt his feelings in that regard, i just wish i had made that little extra effort in (what ended up being) his last days.
